[Flexradio] FreeDV. USB or DIGU?
List mates I got some good advice from list members on setting up FreeDV as far as my audio question went privately. Thanks for those responses. It's just another Digital radio program and sets up just like all other except for the need of a second audio input and output hardware device I found my USB headset so I am ready to go there for the audio input and output from FreeDV. VAC is already set up and in I use it for Digital modes all the time. Question is do I use DGU or or USB? If you use DGU you have no audio chain processing or other audio setting getting in the way or causing potential problems so that would be prefered I'd think. If you use USB I guess I'd just set a new audio profile up for the USB headset and use that profile? Please respond to the list so others can search for this info if they are looking for this subject in the future. Thanks in advance Steven -- Apply appropriate technology. [Flexradio] A vanished Flex5K
Gentlemen, since 7 years I'm a silent reader and tried to work out my problems by the many hints I found here. Thanks to you all. But today I´m stuck: Installed a Win 7 Pro 64bit on a Haswell i5-4670 ( or similar) machine and wanted to install PowerSDR 2.6.4 ... which initially was done without problems. I only noticed I was not able to set up a pair of virtual serial ports for CAT control (DX-Lab in use). I used the F5K to measure all my antennas and note the tuner settings. Long day ... so there is the next day for addressing the CAT Problem. Unsolvable on the next day ... and suddenly my FlexRadio was gone (at least this only virtually). Here it is in front of me but two days testing and uninstalling and installing and firewire checking and what have you did not make it addressable again. I'm lost and need your expert help, if you will, please. Thank you all and I wish you well df...@gmx.de ___ FlexRadio Systems Mailing List FlexRadio@flex-radio.biz http://mail.flex-radio.biz/mailman/listinfo/flexradio_flex-radio.biz Archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/flexradio%40flex-radio.biz/ Knowledge Base: http://kc.flexradio.com/ Homepage: http://www.flexradio.com/
Re: [Flexradio] A vanished Flex5K
It is possible that you have zombie ports remaining, after the installs and uninstalls. Zombie ports are hidden, they don't work, and they block the installation of new virtual ports. Find them and delete them: Start Run Type cmd.exe in the textbox and click OK Type set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices=1 and hit ENTER Type cd\windows\system32 and hit ENTER Type start devmgmt.msc and hit ENTER rem: When the device manager opens, click the View menu Click Show Hidden Devices Click on the + sign next to the Ports to see the full list of Com ports being used. Highlight the port you wish to delete and then press delete. Accept when asked to do so and continue with any more that you wish to delete. [Flexradio] Heil Pro-Set
Hi, I have a couple IC version of the Heil Pro-sets that I use with my portable station(s). What I want to do is use one of these with the FLEX500. KB article: http://kc.flexradio.com/KnowledgebaseArticle50372.aspx?Keywords=icom+heil+pr o covers re-wiring the pins in the Heil adapter cable. I assume I can use either the Icom adapter or the Yeasu adapter (which I don't have). I would like to re-wire one of the Icom adaptor I have and I'm curious if anyone has done this as described in the KB, and of course any good/bad reports. The end goal is to take the FLEX-5000 portable when operating the Colorado QSO party August 31st. My XYL (W0PRS) really dislikes operating anything other than the Flex. Of course I am the same way, but would rather blame someone else for the work involved getting the fairly well installed FLEX5000 out of its operating position and portable! Re: [Flexradio] FreeDV. USB or DIGU?
Use DIGI and VAC for to/from the Flex. 14.236 USB best place to start. go to http://192.231.86.24 and login to the freedv qso finder where more freqs are recommended. Generally, follow the SSB band plan for selection of USB/LSB. This is still VOICE in the eyes of the current FCC Rules. :-) Mel, K0PFX - Original Message - From: Steven Hess flameb...@gmail.com To: FlexRadio reflector FlexRadio@flex-radio.biz Sent: Sunday, August 11, 2013 11:39 AM Subject: [Flexradio] FreeDV. Re: [Flexradio] Heil Pro-Set
I don't agree with Fite very often but I certainly concur this time. And your wife's sentiments are surely fully justified. In a few weeks I should have my portable setup using both Tarheel and CrankIR. I don't see how anyone could operate without the Flex diversity features. But perhaps no one should consider using a fully-connected 5000A for portable use. I don't think anyone bothers to label the cables so you will never get it back together properly after the portable application!I wouldn't hesitate to double the order and get two 3000's while you're at it. 73 Lee K9WRU - Original Message - From: William H.
