[Flexradio] BPSK split and up operation

2014-03-05 Thread dave dabay

I have been watching the 20 meter, digital, W1AW ops and think I have things
correct to work split and up a little while using digital mode BPSK31….

what I have done: normal ops work and have worked, so I select split, then AB,
then adjust the last 3 digits of the VFO B frequency - based on the desired
transmit freq….

and operate..

is that correct? is there a better way?

thanks in advance

[Flexradio] Upgrade my flex computer to Windows 7

2014-03-05 Thread Todd Stolzberg
I would like to upgrade the hard drive and also change from XP to Windows 7 in
the computer that I use for my Flex 3000. (I am currently using PowerSDR 2.7.2
on the XP machine.) I am comfortable with computer upgrades but I have never
installed my 3000 on any other computer, and just to be sure that I don't mess
anything up could someone advise if the following steps are correct.

1.. Copy my existing PowerSDR database to a thumb drive.
2.. Change out the hard drive and install and setup Windows 7.
3.. Run the 2.7.2 integrated installer.
  4.. Reboot
5.. Connect the Flex 3000 to the computer and then turn it on.
  6.. Start PowerSDR.
7.. Import the original database from the thumb drive (I am assuming I can do
this since it is from the same version of PowerSDR.)
8.. I am also assuming that the software will detect that the firmware in the
radio had been previously upgraded when 2.7.2 was installed on the XP machine.
One of my concerns is that I don't want to mess up the firmware in the radio.

Also if needed, would I be able to switch out the hard drives and go back to
the XP installation and still use the Flex 3000?

Thanks in advance for looking at this and for any comments/suggestions.

If you need attach a MicroHam Microkeyer2 to your Flexradio you can by a DB-15

Frank:

Thanks for posting the diagram. I too have completed building a full set
of cables for the MicroHam MK-2R+. We've tested all of the hardware,
keying, and audio interfaces but I'm having difficulties with the Virtual
Serial interface working with our SmartCAT. It may just be me.. Have
you been successful with controlling your FLEX-6000 from the MK-2?

Thanks for any information.

Re: [Flexradio] Upgrade my flex computer to Windows 7

2014-03-05 Thread Greg Jurrens
Todd:

That looks like an appropriate path to take. There are actually a few
other files if you use memories: master.xml and memory.xml

These are both located at: %appdata%/FlexRadio Systems(Note that this
is a symlink that will get you right to YOUR specific file store area.)

Good luck
