[Flexradio] FlexRadio Systems Introduces the FLEX-6300 Signature Series SDR

2014-05-08 Thread Tim Ellison, W4TME
Austin TX, - May 9, 2014: FlexRadio Systems today announced the addition
of the FLEX-6300 to its FLEX-6000 Signature Series line of digital
direct sampling transceivers. With an introductory price of $2499, the
FLEX-6300 offers the serious amateur an affordable entry point to
multi-dimensional amateur radio operations from CW to the latest digital
modes.

The FLEX-6300 is for the amateur who wants to experience the magic of
software defined radio in the highest performance 100W transceiver
family available today. Providing dual panadapters and waterfall
displays, as well as two full-performance slice receivers, the FLEX-6300
opens up new operating capabilities at an affordable price. With the
included Digital Audio eXchange (DAX^(TM)) digital software interface,
operators can use digital modes with no added cables, interfaces or
sound devices. And the optional user or factory installed $299 Antenna
Tuner Unit (ATU) provides for operation in conditions where antennas may
not be resonant.

Each FLEX-6000 Signature Series radio is built on a direct sampling
receiver foundation. By removing analog mixers and components, the
FLEX-6000 family provides and ultra-quiet reception experience, ensuring
you can see and hear the weak ones. The companion direct digital
up-conversion transmitter creates the purest transmitted signal
available, putting the "clear" in "loud and clear." All of this is built
on a network-ready Ethernet platform ensuring high performance today and
compatibility for the future.

The FLEX-6300 is available now with shipments starting May 12, 2014. For
more detailed specifications visit our website at http://www.flexradio.com

[Flexradio] Symetrix 528E

2014-05-08 Thread William and Susan
Hello to all.
This is to AMers
First just saw the great deals on Neil's Computers. He built mine and I love
it.

Now, I just bought a Symetrix 528E and have a couple of questions? Do I start
off with a new Transmit Profile on the Flex 3000 or do I just use the old
profile, where I made many changes for good AM, I call (AM Rode Broadcast) or
keep that and just omit the internal Equalizer?

Second I bought the I BOX from W12HY but can not figure out the cable to the
flex. OH O never mind as Julius just called and and I told him to send the
wrong cable.

As for the 528e any advice as for beginning settings would be appreciated. I am
setting it up as an independent machine, no other equipment.

Oh by the way I bought the REA Amplitude Modulation Monitor it is great for
AMers no only do you see your signal in various forms but you can hear
yourself in real time over the air. If you want to know more just let me know

Thanks a lot folks
Bill

Perhaps you were thinking of the 60 meter band. There are 5 registers, one
for each channel.

Subject: [Flexradio] More band buttons?

I seem to recall several versions of PowerSDR back that we had more than 3
band clicks available. I'm not sure what to call it. Right now I can click a
band button 3 times and get different freqs each time, 4th click, I'm back
to the first freq. I was thinking there were 5 or 6 at one time. Or is this
a setup option?

BTW I'm on v2.7.2

Re: [Flexradio] More band buttons?

2014-05-08 Thread Ray, K9DUR
Dave,

It is not a setup option, but rather a side effect of using the
PowerSDR-DataTransfer utility.

There is a Knowledge Base article that details how to do it:

http://kc.flexradio.com/KnowledgebaseArticle50246.aspx

Note that the article is old and refers to my SDRDataTransfer utility which
was replaced by PowerSDR-DataTransfer (included with PowerSDr v2.7.2), but
the method still works except that step 6 is no longer necessary.

Each time you run the procedure, you will add 3 new BSR's to each band where
you have tuned around enough to put new values in the existing BSR's for
that band. Clear as mud? Hi. Hi.
