[Flexradio] GPSDO on the 6000 Series
Can the GPSDO-6000 be added to the 6000 series by the user or must it be installed during production? ___ FlexRadio Systems Mailing List FlexRadio@flex-radio.biz http://mail.flex-radio.biz/mailman/listinfo/flexradio_flex-radio.biz Archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/flexradio%40flex-radio.biz/ Knowledge Base: http://kc.flexradio.com/ Homepage: http://www.flexradio.com/
Re: [Flexradio] Ham Radio Deluxe and PowerSDR/Flex5000A
Okay I spent some time trying to get Eterlogic virtual com port to work with HDR and PowerSDR. I couldn't get the HDR frequency display to update. It would get the initial freq from PowerSDR and freeze. Hope someone can get this to work and educate the rest of us. Re: [Flexradio] Ham Radio Deluxe and PowerSDR/Flex5000A
Ross, I think you are right. I set up my laptop to run the same software. My laptop is a duo AMD processor running XP Pro. I loaded the same versions of PowerSDR, HDR and Vcom. I configured everything the same as my Vista desktop. It ran fine and had not dropped out after two hours. There was no sluggishness in HDR. Vista is the problem. There was another post that listed a site for some new virtual com port software that was freeware. It is listed as being compatible with Vista. see Neal Campbell - "New Virtual port software" post. Looks interesting. Art, KA4M At 02:56 PM 7/5/2008 -0500, Ross Stenberg wrote: >Art, I have had problems with this as well as a few others with about the >same configuration. Re: [Flexradio] Ham Radio Deluxe and PowerSDR/Flex5000A
Ross, Yes, it seems slow. Lately however I'm not changing freq, I'm just seeing how long it lasts until it quits. [Flexradio] Ham Radio Deluxe and PowerSDR/Flex5000A
I have a problem when trying to run Ham Radio Deluxe with PowerSDR on my Flex5000. I'm using N8VB VCOM for com ports. I bring up PowerSDR then HDR. I make the connection from HDR and see the frequency and other parameters in the HDR screen. Everything is working fine. After about two minutes (can be longer) I get an error message from PowerSDR saying "Setup error. Failed to load resources from resource file. Please check your setup." I then get an error message from HDR that the connection has stopped. When I click "OK" on the PowerSDR error message PowerSDR closes. I then close HDR. I cannot bring PowerSDR back up without rebooting the computer. Here are the operating conditions. Running Vista on an ASUS Maximus Extreme motherboard. Intel X9650 processor (quad 3.0 gHz processors.) 2 gigs of DDR3 RAM, Firewire PCI card using the Agere chip. The onboard firewire is disabled in the BIOS. PowerSDR 1.12.0, Firmware 1.2.0.3. Ham Radio Deluxe V4.0 SP3 build 1875 Driver is 3.0.0.70. Running 192 kHz with a 2048 buffer, Safe Mode 1. N8VB VCOM with four pairs 6 to 16, 7 to 17, 8 to 18, 9 to 19 In the HDR connection and PowerSDR CAT screen I started out with com 6 to 16. Switched to com 8 to 18, no change. I have tried many different matching baud rates plus the original 115,000 to 57,600. No change. The ID on the CAT setup in PowerSDR is "PowerSDR" the connection in HRD is "SDR1000". I changed both to TS-2000, no change. I have uninstalled PowerSDR, deleted the database and reinstalled PowerSDR. No change. I have uninstalled VCOM. I configured it, saved the config and installed it again. No change. My Flex5000A runs fine by itself. As soon as I bring up HRD and make the connection PowerSDR goes belly up about 2 minutes later. I'm stumped. [Flexradio] K8RA P4 Paddle with Flex5000
I just got a new P4 paddle from K8RA. About every once in awhile the dah paddle does not make a connection, i.e. I get nothing out. My Vibroplex works fine. I thought it might be the cable so I switched cables. Same results. I unchecked iambic to just manually key the transmitter and the same trouble. Vibroplex okay, P4 problems. Has anyone had problems like this with a specific paddle? BTW the P4 is a large hunk of brass, makes the Vibroplex look like crud. Re: [Flexradio] Tune Power on Flex5000
This is not a spike this is constant. When you click on tune you get 115 watts out (100 on the external meter). It doesn't matter what you have set on the tune block on the transmit tab. Again keying in the USB (LSB) with no audio input yields the same 115/100 watts. Art At 10:12 AM 3/8/2008 -0600, George Steube wrote: >Art >See my post on power spikes. [Flexradio] Tune Power on Flex5000
The tune function on my Flex5000 started acting strangely. When I hit tune instead of getting the normal 10 watts I get about 115 watts on the forward power meter. This is confirmed by an external power meter which reads 100 watts. It doesn't matter which antenna I'm using including a dummy load. I tried varying the tune input on the transmit tab from 10 to 4 but this had no effect. Another anomaly is that when I key the unit in the USB mode and do not apply modulation I get the same 115 watts out. (100 watts on the external meter) Sounds like something is oscillating. Help! [Flexradio] My Flex 5000A Went Dead
Yes, it happened to me. I received this unit on December 3. It's worked fine until Saturday morning. While listening on 20M all the signal went away and the noise dropped to the bottom of the panadapter. Could not transmit. Took off the antenna on 20 and noticed no change in the noise. Uninstalled and reinstalled the driver and PowerSDR. Updated the fireware. No change. Guess I'll have to wait until Wednesday to talk to the FlexRadio guys.
