Can anyone help with this observation - firstly I have had two Flex 5000A - after selling the first I missed the 5k so much that I bought another. Ok onto the observation. My interest is 80m DX which involves attempting to receive very weak signals (SSB) . A friend has lent me a K3 to try out for a month or so and I have given it a good testing over the past two weeks - and in every comparison the recovered audio on weak signals is far superior to the 5k - I have tried playing with the equalizer but I cannot get it any where near the K3 - on the K3 the week signals are clear and easy to read, on the other hand the 5K is to mellow and rounded - its not sharp enough. Has anbody tried this and are there any fixes that I can do to bring the recovered audio on the 5K up to the K3. Sensitivity wise I would say they are the same, many thanks and Happy Holidays to all from Dave. [Flexradio] Remote operating
Hi all - I wish to select my beverages and other relay operated items from my remote location - has anyone written a program similar to the SDR 1K where a matrix is selected and the output is directed to the RS 232 port or possible the parallell port - to switch a transistor and subsequently a relay.. [Flexradio] 160 preamp
160 Receive Pre-amp - I wish to have the option to switch the receive pre-amp on on 160 at the moment this is grayed out. There is a big difference in receiving low signals if the pre-amp is enabled. The noise floor using 250mtr beverages is -100dbm 2.001khz without the pre-amp. With the pre-amp enabled this drops to -112dbm. Very low signals which are totaly unreadable become Q5 and workable - I have made the same tests on 80m and the results are the same. Has anyone else experienced this situation? if so is there a fix? how easy is it to change the software? - Dudley I have also emailed you directly on this ongoing problem.
