[Flexradio] Moving to the FLEX6300

Well, I've sold my FLEX 3000 and moving on to the 6300. This reflector seem
to cover just the older models, is there another one for the new models?

[Flexradio] Sound card settings?

Gary,
Regarding your email below. This is the first time I've notice that this
might be a problem. I knew that all the settings inside PowerSDR should be
the same but didn't know about the external sound card settings! So now I
double checked, in 'setup' I have 'Audio' 'Primary' set to Buffer of 2048
and Sample rate of 96000. In VAC 1 I have the same but 'stereo' is not
clicked. Should it be? I'm running a F3000 so there is no VAC 2.

Then on my sound card of the PC, used to do just the normal PC sounds and
such I have it set to 24 bit 96000 Hz for playback, I also checked the
other set of speakers and the two Line 1 and Line 2 playbacks were all
shown as Virtual Audio Cables. Set them all to 24 bit 96000 Hz. Should I
also have all the 'Recording' inputs set to that? I show 10 items on that
list, mics, lines, and S/PDIF.

Another thing to check / verify; make sure all audio devices are running the
same sampling rate and depth i.e  2 channel, 16 bit, 48,000 Hz.
Mismatches with VAC and sound cards WILL cause significant DPCs (Delayed
Procedure Calls).

[Flexradio] Smart SDR s/w?

So, now that the new 6300 model is out it's got my attention. The hardware
specs look great but what about the software? Is Smart SDR ready for prime
time? Does it have all the features of the latest version PowerSDR software
I'm using now with my FLEX3000? Are upgrades free or is there some kind of
annual charge for the s/w?
I looked around on the flex website for answers to these questions but
could not find any answers...

[Flexradio] More band buttons?

I seem to recall several versions of PowerSDR back that we had more than 3
band clicks available. I'm not sure what to call it. Right now I can click
a band button 3 times and get different freqs each time, 4th click, I'm
back to the first freq. I was thinking there were 5 or 6 at one time. Or is
this a setup option?

[Flexradio] FLEX3000 can't get a full 100W output

I haven't been paying much attention to my output in the past but have
noticed lately that I don't get a full 100W output on SSB on any band. That
is with a whistle on the input which should drive it to max output. I'm
looking at the 'Fwd Pwr' on the TX Meter which agrees pretty close with an
external BIRD power meter that I have.
So yesterday I hooked her up to a 50ohm 1KW Cantenna to see what each band
would do. It varied from a low of 74 watts on 12 mtrs to a high of 95 on 15
mtrs. Seems like I heard somewhere about some calibration or something you
can do to fix this sort of problem.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

[Flexradio] How to center the panadapter?

Seems like there was something on here about how to center up the panadaper
display. I had to reset my DB and now it is off to the right of center
again. I looked around in the setup options but didn't see it.

More info, should have mentioned, this is a F3K so no antenna selection to
worry about. I've been messing with it more this afternoon. I discovered
that if I turn the preamp to 'attn' it starts to work! Then back to 'off'
and they are still there! Shutdown PSDR and start it back up, same issue,
no receive on most of the AM band until I turn the 'attn' on and back
'off'.
I don't know if this is related but with the preamp 'off' I have a noise
level of -112 dBm (S3), with the 'attn' ON I have a noise level of -95 dBm
(S5+)? Shouldn't the noise level be LOWER with the attenuator ON?
At least I can hear AM Broadcast now but must always do the attn/off
routine each time I re-start PSDR.

[Flexradio] No Broadcast band?

Just upgraded to v2.6.4 a week or so ago, tuned down to the AM Broadcast
band for the first time today. I'm not getting much there on AM or any
other mode. I get a weak signal on 1460, 1520, and 1590 but NO other
signals. I live near Houston and I know in the past I was picking up AM
stations all over the band.
Preamp is off, AGC-T is at 75. What am I missing?
Normal signals from 1.8 to 2.0 MHz but almost nothing on either side of
that.

[Flexradio] CW SKIMMER AND V2.4.4

Trying to setup CW Skimmer for the first time. I can get it to work on 3khz
audio just fine using VAC1. Any way to get it to work with a larger
bandwidth?

[Flexradio] V2.4.4 can't get the CAT to work

Well, upgraded to 2.4.4 tonight. Got the older 2.3.5 database to import
finally. Most everything is working but can't get Ham Radio Deluxe to
connect to the SDR. I've got it all setup like the wiki said (I think, sure
wish the wiki was back so I could double check that!).

SDR is set to:
Cat Control: enable CAT
Port COM15
Baud 57600
Parity none
Data 8
Stop 1

PTT Control enable
ID as PowerSDR

HRD is set as:
Company FlexRadio
Radio PowerSDR
Com Port COM5
Speed 57600

It won't connect...

[Flexradio] Upgrade won't load old Setup?

Just finished my upgrade to 2.4.4, went smoothly, no hits, no runs, no
errors. Took about 20 minutes or so with my FLEX3000. But, I can't load my
setup from the 2.3.5 version I had before. The 2.4.4 Release notes say I
should be able to do that. I would like to get all my VAC and CAT and all
those other settings back. I saved the old DB just before I upgraded. What
am I doing wrong?

[Flexradio] Hand mic for the Flex3000?

What is a good Hand Mic I can use with my 3000? I am currently using a Heil
headset but sometimes all you need is a hand mic. I want something small
and hand held, not a desk mic. Which Yeasu model should it be wired for?
Seems like the mic connector wiring is the same as something Yeasu...
