I live within sight of WLW which presents serious reception problems. The answer for me has been the high pass filter made by Clifton Labs. I have considered 1) a preselector/antenna tuner to greatly narrow the spectrum bandwidth seen by the front end, using my existing inverted L antenna; 2) a tunable narrow loop antenna; or 3) an upconverter to tune longwave and AM broadcast at, say, 4 MHz. I wonder if anyone on the reflector has any wisdom to impart on this subject. [Flexradio] Flex 6500 Line Input & SmartSDR v1.2.17
On my Flex 6500 I use the Line Input for audio input to the transmitter. Today I updated the software to SmartSDR v1.2.17 and it now defaults to the Mic input. My problem is that I can find no way to change it back from Mic Input to Line Input. Any suggestions would be most appreciated. Don't you just love software updates that breaks things? I'm sorry that I did not make my point clear. I'm talking a separate external receiver, such as an icon or Yaesu. The one reply suggested the need of a duplexer. That sounds like an expensive solution, maybe the only one? [Flexradio] FLEX-5000 Antenna Settings for RX2
I am using a FLEX-5000A with the RX2 option installed and a single antenna for transmit and receive. Can I enable RX2 using the RX1 Tap option without front end overload damage while transmitting? My antenna settings are as follows: Receiver 1 = ANT1 Receiver 2 = RX1 Tap Transmit = ANT 1 Lock is checked Switch Relay with TR TX1 TX2 TX3 all checked Thanks for advice on this issue.
