Re: [Flexradio] Memory Selection 2.1.5 is poor
I just got the update installed today (very clean & no issues) and am still doing some minor tweeks, however if you have a 2m memory item seleted the box in the lower right will work for other selections until you go to an HF memory item. Once you do that the box changes so that capability is not there. I think a box update to add that capability to all modes will work wonderfully. At least that is my 2c worth at this point. My thanks to the Flex team for the great update! I am still trying to learn what a fantastic tool this is. My limitation is this is my first HF rig and I have a big learning curve there. A tutorial DVD (even for sale) would be a great boon to those of us try to learn how to effectivly use it in all modes effectivly (especially newbies), plus the options. 73 Michael M. Just click the button and see simply a list of all the frequencies or call signs and be able to click on one and have it come up... If I have hundreds of memory entries there should be a scroll bar to see them all. And a sort utility... I see no reason to have the "Memory Interface" window open each time to select a memory. Then have to click the memory and then click select. It is clumsy. [Flexradio] Is Airmail/Winlink possible with a Flex 5000A?
I should be ordering my 5000A with all of the toyz by Wed. next week, I have already talked to Matt. I will have to return the unit when my turn comes up for the 60W 2M/70CM add on becomes available (mid to end Oct.), but that is ok because I started late.. Anyway I have a Kantronics unit KAM XL and was wondering if anyone had figured out if it was possible to use the KAM with the 5000A. Thanks a lot in advance, regardless of the answer, and I continue to read trying to reduce the uphill climb of configuring/activating this amazing piece of equipment. I have been monitoring for 3 years, and saving, and am very anxious to get on the air. While I am an Extra this will be my first HF rig, why buy twice! 73 ___ FlexRadio Systems Mailing List FlexRadio@flex-radio.biz http://mail.flex-radio.biz/mailman/listinfo/flexradio_flex-radio.biz Archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/flexradio%40flex-radio.biz/ Knowledge Base: http://kc.flexradio.com/ Homepage: http://www.flexradio.com/

I'm thinking (but not totally sure) that there will need to be a Flexwire I/O interface unit that controls the up/down/park motor control that the computer senses the SWR for ideal position (saves with memory locations) before full output power is supplied from the radio. Much better while driving instead of looking at the SWR reading and doing the up/down manual control of the antenna. DDUTIL may be able to do this once the interface/controller for the antenna is built (Thanks Tim Ellison). I think the 3000 would be a great mobile unit with a laptop and an antenna interface!
