Re: [Flexradio] Parallel Port for F3K
Thanks to all the suggestions. I will first check to see if there is a parallel port on the board, and, if not, will see about ordering another PP card. This may take me a month or so since I just broke my arm in a tractor accident and can only use one hand. Fortunately it is not the hand I use for keying! Thanks again for the help! [Flexradio] FLEX-5000 looks great
Boy! It looks like Flex got it right this time -- Again! And in three different flavors to satisfy everyone's taste! BUT... I had purchased the UCB in anticipation of acquiring at SDR-1000 at Dayton. I knew I would have to purchase a really good PC in order to anticipate several years of advances coming up, and it was going to stretch my budget just beyond where I could afford it, but what the heck... For this state of the art, it was worth it! Now, though, the FLEX-5K is beyond what I can afford since I have to get a PC also (and I do NOT want to get a PC which will just squeak by the specs for now, but will be lacking in power for the next upgrade in software!) My wife would not understand me getting a $2500 radio and a $1200 (or more) computer at the same time I tell her we can't afford to insulate the attic.So... does anyone want to purchased an already built K3TUF UCB but has never been used? I am curious as to the number of folks either running under OS-X or working toward that end. I just replaced my old HP laptop with a new MacBook Pro. I am thinking SDR Portable??? My XP/Linux tower is a bit bulky to tote around. GRIN 73s Jim, W4ATK --Jim, I, for one, have delayed purchasing the Flex, simply because I use Macs rather than PCs. (Hey guys, don't criticize me too badly, for I do use PC's daily and I work part-time in a PC world as a technician/network/wireless consultant) But at home, I can not afford to keep up with the latest and greatest in both the PC and Mac world, so something had to give (My family members have to have their Macs, also, so there are a lot of computers to purchase!). The Mac is my joy, though, so it won out over the PC world. Yes, I choose the Mac, and that means I cannot yet choose the Flex unless I go with Linux. But I do not understand Linux, nor do I have the time to devote to its complexities of language and jargon -- My family, jobs, etc., must come first. So... I hope someone does come up with the OSX version of the SDR1000 console. When that happens, I will be first in line to purchase whatever the Flex hardware happens to be at that time. 73's Bill W4ISH ___ FlexRadio mailing list FlexRadio@flex-radio.biz http://mail.flex-radio.biz/mailman/listinfo/flexradio_flex-radio.biz Archive Link: http://www.mail-archive.com/flexradio%40flex-radio.biz/ FlexRadio Homepage: http://www.flex-radio.com/ FlexRadio Knowledge Base: http://kb.flex-radio.com/
