Re: [Flexradio] Can't install PSDR on Windows 8.1

2013-10-13 Thread David Fisher
Following up on this -- I hope not prematurely ...

I scrapped my Windows 8.1 system and re-imaged my machine with the Windows 8
system that had been on it previously. This was a stable system.

After getting all the backed up patches installed and verifying the files
against the backups, I tried installing PowerSDR. This time, no problems at
all.

Now all I have to do is learn to use this rig

Thanks to all for the help and suggestions ...

Well, here I am with a new 5000A installation and I’m stuck. I’m running
Windows 8.1 (I know, I know) and I can’t get PowerSDR installed. When it tries
to install the Firewire driver (I knew this would be the hard part), the system
blue screens on a “Memory Management” error. Does it every time.

This is the “beta” W 8.1 - the real bits come out at the end of next week.
This may be a bug in the system, so I may have to sit and wait. Backing up to
an image of the Windows 8 system that was on this computer prior to putting on
W 8.1 is an option -- one I’d rather avoid.

Maybe I should revert to the W8 system anyway. Going forward from there with
the W 8.1 release, when it comes, will be supported, but going forward from the
beta may not.
