Tnx to all for advise on using easy pal with my flex. Looks pretty straight
forward and I'll try and set it up this weekend while we sit around and get
hammered by the hurricane. First an earth quake and now a hurricane!

EasyPal works fine for me using DDUtil and DXLab suite. Using macros in
DDUtils so set the proper receive filters, frequency and mode.

I have been using EasyPal with SDR-1000 and now my Flex-3000 for quite a
while. It does take more compute power than other digital modes used
with

PowerSDR, but seems to work just fine.

I'm hearing about Easy PAL, an SSTV format that I understand is not yet
incorporated in HR Deluxe or DM 780. Is anyone here using Easy PAL with
a Flex?

When you select the DGU and DGL modes is the front microphone connected
muted on the Flex-3000? I don't want to be broadcasting my crappy guitar
from here in the shack. ;-)

Yes. Unless you select the Setup->Audio->VAC option to make the mic
active *and* you use the PTT circuit (hard wired) to key the mic.

I just downloaded 2.0.16 to a new AMD Phenom 9550 quad 2.12Ghz. 6MB ram
computer running 64bit Vista as Administrator after uninstalling on-board
Agere firewire and installing NEC firewire board that worked well on last
computer.

At startup the system worked fine except for constant -30dB noise (looked
like audio spectrum) showing in Panadapter when MOX was activated. Mic
and antennas were disconnected with no effect. Playing with the
downward expander and ,all buttons made no difference.

After rebooting and hitting the Start button I now get a Port Audio
error. Tried turning everything off and rebooting several times to no
avail.

Any suggestions?

Every day. Works great. I set the audio levels in DIGIL or DIGIU
depending on which band I'm on and then switch to USB or LSB . Seems to
work better than using DIGIU or DIGIL alone.

Just watch your drive levels in the digital modes, especially Easypal.

Lot's of friendly help on 14.233 and especially 7.173 during the day.
Look for KB4YZ on 7.173. He's the OLD MAN of SSTV modes.

Yes it works fine with VAC audio too, I use it on VHF with Rob & the
gang, also on HF 80, 40 & 20 Mtrs... generally on higher of the two SSTV
frequency's easy to identify Easypal on the waterfall too.
It is a 100% duty cycle mode so be aware of audio levels and power
output.

There are a few websites showing digital images sent / received around
the world, check out http://www.g0hwc.com/ or even mine on

[Flexradio] Easy Pal

2009-08-31 Thread Joseph White
Hi Folks,

I need some help with Easy Pal. I just downloaded It and did not find any
documentation. I have not been on SSTV in 5 years. I use to run MMTTY.
Does Easy Pal use a different standard. I.e. Scotty S1. I need to know
what I should use to interface it with the Flex 5000C. I need to know if
interfaced with VAC or ComOCom? What the setting are.

It would be better to answer off line as I most likely will have a number of
questions as I get it ready to run. Even better I could and would call
someone on the phone that could lead me through the setup.

Regards,
