Re: [Flexradio] Flex 5000A Digital W10 troubles

2015-11-18 Thread John Ferrell

Thanks for the reminder, I have not done due diligence with searching yet.
I have chosen the current HRD product.

Re: [Flexradio] Flex 5000A Digital W10 troubles

2015-11-18 Thread John Ferrell

UPDATE:
I have not been able to spend as much time on this thread as I would
have liked but here is an update:
I have very carefully been following the install procedure on the HRD
website for integrating the Flex, VAC, com0com and I am down to where
the PTT on psk is simply "chopping".
I have also installed the trial version of HRD and will likely get the
fee paid this evening.
Each of the packages have their own variance from the instructions
posted as they have updates and enhancements added.
I don't consider this a bug, it is simply the normal way to take
advantage of cutting edge technology. I am enjoying the Quest and
learning lots.

Normal people would be better served by taking advantage of the several
support sites that are eager to help.

My mother did not have any normal children, just me!
73, I shall return with news as I have it...

Re: [Flexradio] Flex 5000A Digital W10 troubles

2015-10-28 Thread John Ferrell

The HRD folks have provided this:
http://www.hrdsoftwarellc.com/hrdflexsetup.pdf

I will work there for a bit...

The problem I have is that I am unable to make the VAC setup work with
HRD (free version). I thought I had it under control when I found this
in the Knowledge base:
https://helpdesk.flexradio.com/hc/en-us/articles/202118418-Sample-Rate-Synchronization-between-VAC-and-Vista-Win7-Win8-Sound-Devices

Unfortunately, that advice does not seem to fit my configuration.
It would be very helpful if someone could show me a simple application
of the vac software with free packages.

or, offer a current install procedure with up to date examples.

I did not do the first install, it was done for me by AJ4TW to get me
off to a good start. I could get him to come do it again but that is
very bitter medicine for us old-timers. I really need to work this out
with the available resources.
The one other change was that We were using his vac which I removed
and replaced with a copy I purchased from the vendor.

I will admit I am learning a lot, but I would like to work on
something else for a while.
