[Flexradio] Max power out on Digital modes
I know I have seen it in writing , but I can't locate the info now. What is the recommended power output level for the 5000A running in Digital Modes ? Re: [Flexradio] Max power out on Digital modes
You can run full duty cycle digital modes at 100 watts if the transmissions are intermittent, like operating a RTTY contest for hours on end. If you are rag chewing on digital modes where the transmissions are long and the breaks are short, then 50 watts is a good output power level unless good operating practice dictates to use less wattage, like for PSK31. The key is to not let the PA get too toasty. I'd monitor the PA temperature by bringing up the Information window using SHIFT+CTRL+I and not allowing the temperature to get into the red (which I think is around 50 C). -Tim -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Dave Beumer WA3FDB Sent: Wednesday, February 27, 2008 7:19 PM To: flexradio@flex-radio.biz Subject: [Flexradio] Max power out on Digital modes I know I have seen it in writing , but I can't locate the info now.
