If you have enough processing power you can sort-of get it to work with the
1500. But performance is poor and if you do anything over on the MacOS side
of things, it gets really bad fast. None of the virtualization packages
support FireWire. The solution is running BootCamp and dual-boot the Mac to
run PowerSDR.

I can't answer that but it seems to be that many are running Windows 8.
Perhaps others will respond.

Ken,

Parallels 8.0 states USB 3.0 support. I have no experience with that so good
luck. I do see they are informing people to stay away from Windows 8 until
fully tested. You may want to go with Win7 if you go this route. Also I am not
sure how that would work for USB 1.0 or 2.0 if that is what is on the 1500?

Again, good luck.

Thanks for the replies guys! I neglected to mention I have a Flex 1500
so I would be using a USB port, not Firewire. Any problems with
Parallels or Fusion using USB ports?

Thanks again and 73,

Ken,

I don't know about Fusion 5 but I know Parallels does not support firewire. I
imagine Fusion does not either.

I would suggest running Boot Camp and load Windows 7 on that partition.
