Re: [Flexradio] X2 sequency: bug ?

2005-09-01 Thread w.hlawatschek
Let me add my last weekend's experiences when I tried to connect an external 6m
PA to the SDR1K to participate at the good 50MHz propagations in Europe:

Enabling X2 Pin #1 for 6m in the receive and transmit field at Ext. Ctrl,
activates pin #1 ONLY in receive status (when transmitting pin 1 is not
active). This applies for version 1.4.4. Version 1.4.3 works in this respect as
it should.

I tested this only for above situation and not for other bands or pin numbers.

This is a bug/feature that has been reported by Mike KM0T and Terry
W0VB. The strange thing about this bug is that it happens on some PCs,
and not others. I have a Dell machine here in the office that does not
show the issue (my development machine), but another home built PC has
the same issue.

I have been over and over the code, but have not been able to hunt this
one down. Perhaps we could get some information from others in order to
get a better understanding of why it happens on one PC and not others.

Here is a procedure to follow to see if it happens:

1. With a fresh database, open the PowerSDR software and follow the
wizard prompts for your hardware configuration.
2. Open the Setup form and go to the Ext Ctrl page.
3. Mark Pin 1 on 20m TX and hit the apply button.
4. Return to the front console and go to 20m.
5. Power on the console and monitor X2 Pin 1 while pressing the MOX
button. The pin should go high (without a pull-up, it won't be 5V).
This works every time here.
6. Now go back to the Setup Form -> General Tab and mark the checkbox to
"Enable X2 TR Sequencing".
7. Repeat step 5 and see if you get the same results.

I'll be interested in seeing how many others have this issue.

Hi

from several beta release are available the controls for X2 1-5 (and 6
later) pins out,
that I'm using to control the LPF in my adapted 100PA.
If in the general setup I select the X2 check box, enabling the pin 7 to

control a linear
amplifier relay, the 1 to 6 pins do not work !
Why ?
This is a bug or is a software choice ?

Eric,

thank you for reply, i will make the test this evening at home.

I've missed to tell that the x2 "1 to 6 test check boxex" work ok with
or without the X2 checked
