Re: [Flexradio] sdr_linux repository

2007-02-07 Thread Eric Wachsmann
When I said "releasing this code", I meant, "To make this SVN repository
publicly known." :)

I can speak only for the hardware code which I developed, but it is a "port"
(fork, if you want to call it that) of the current PowerSDR code written in
C++. Given that you can count the number of changes in the past 15 months
to this code in C# on one hand, I'm not expecting many more changes.

You use the term "release"... is the hardware and dttsp a new
baseline that will eventually be incorporated in future PowerSDR
official releases, or is it a fork that runs in parallel with the
existing PowerSDR 1.x? The latter is still useful, because some
subset of changes in one might propagate into the official chain.

Re: [Flexradio] sdr_linux repository

2007-02-07 Thread Eric Wachsmann
I have received quite a few emails with questions about this new repository.
Let me give you some more additional information.

The repository currently contains only 2 essential parts of about 5 that
will be needed to realize a functional radio application in and of itself.
These parts are the hardware and the DSP. Still to come are the radio core,
the audio interface (may be absorbed into the DttSP folder...TBD), and the
GUI.

One of the main reasons to releasing this code now (as opposed to when we
have all of the pieces together) was to get the new hardware code into the
hands of developers. This code allows linux developers to utilize the same
hardware options found in PowerSDR (RFE, PA, XVTR, USB, etc). This is
something the community has not had until now. This should also allow Mac
developers to begin experimenting as well now that we have multi-platform
USB support.

These are small signs of things to come in the cross-platform SDR world as
it relates to FlexRadio Systems. Stay tuned. :)

[Flexradio] sdr_linux repository

2007-02-03 Thread Robert McGwier
svn://206.216.146.154/svn/repos_sdr_linux/trunk

contains dttsp, hardware libraries/test code/ and swig for linux,
cygwin, and visual studio 2005.

This is not complete. There is a radiocore repository which is empty
but will not be soon.

Eric did a load of work here in support of all platforms. Frank and I
are grateful.

There may be bugs or omissions. Please let us know as you hack away.
This code will support both the parallel port and the usb device on
windows and linux and probably OSX.
