One note about the knowledge base article. If you are running the Shuttle Pro 2 (I think that's what it is called now - the one they are currently selling), the article works fine. If you have an original shuttle pro, the file doesn't work. You have to build your own configuration but it isn't hard to do. Let me know if you have any problems with it. As am I and possibly many others. My guess is Tim is conducting research on what features are needed for FLEX's new product, and is trying to get useful info without having to sort it out of all of the 'you don’t need no stinkin knobs' chatter and arguments that are likely to develop. I'm investigating the shuttle pro. My biggest concern is: Is there any way to 'attach' it to PWSDR so it always has PWSDR focus. Right now, from what I've read, PWSDR must be the 'focus' program. If you are running a logging program tied to PWSDR, you must move the mouse to PWSDR before shuttle settings take effect. second question I see that shuttle has all those 'other programs' as settings. I can see a way to eliminate those from the choices as I'd only use shuttle with PWSDR. and my cheap attempt at begging. Is anyone willing to share their 'settings file' so I can see how others use it? I'm impressed with it's potential, but as Navigator works like an extension of the Flexradio and I don't have to switch focus, I find it quicker. Especially in contesting were I'd be jumping bands back and forth and taking focus off PWSDR. pse and tu (finally got my email service back after 48 hours of being down. I have found the keymap settings useful for most of the functions I want, but cannot get the AF gain settings (- and +) to work, and do not even find any settings for AGC-T level. I have decided to try the Shuttle Pro 2 with my 5000A. The quick Start guide refers to a spreadsheet of keyboard shortcuts at: www.flex-radio.com/keymap.xls It does not seem to be there anymore and I cannot find it abywhere on the Flexradio site. Does anyone know where it is now? Mike, I think the best way to achieve what you're trying to do is to 'export' your settings to a file. Then, others can 'import' them. Try this: -- Open the Contour Shuttle Device Configuration menu by clicking the icon in the tray, and then selecting 'Open Control Panel' -- Make sure that your PowerSDR application setting is the one currently selected in the 'Application setting' dropdown list. -- Click the 'Options' button beneath this dropdown list, and select 'Export Settings' -- In the pop-up dialog box, name the file whatever you want (without an extension) and select the directory into which you'd like it saved, and click 'Save' When you check the file, it'll probably be around 10K to 15K in length, and will have the extension: .pref. I found a list of keyboard function keys i think ffor the SDR 1000. They do NOT seem to all apply to the 5000 .; e.g. MUTE and filter function. I took a look in the 5000 manual and didn't see a list of keyboard shortcuts.. hopefully I did not miss them. Is there a list for the 5000? I have set up the Shuttle PRO 2 to work with the 5000 . What is the name of the file I want to save so that I can pass it on to others. The fact that PowerSDR appears as a selectable name in the list of templates when the program is called up does not for some reason mean that it appears in the folder for the shuttle pro in the program director (where the folder is called Contour Shuttle). There is a file in the Contour Shuttle Program folder called Contour Shuttle / Control Panel extension (in my case its 2,524KB) . Is that the file I should share with others? The 5000 is a box that talks to PowerSDR so I am not sure the concept of a 5000-specific file will work. Fellow Flexers, I am a newbie, so have patience. I recently acquired and SDR-1000 and I'm having a lot of fun with it. I also acquired a Shuttle Pro-2 with the radio. I can work with the mouse very well, but now I want to use the SP to do the tuning etc. However, there is darn little information on how to do that. I want to be able to select the tuning steps, bands and filters in addition to the tuning, which I have figured out. I like the jog shuttle features. So, does anyone want to share their SP codes with me, or help me get those features programmed? TIA. Keith, You cannot open the .pref file directly. You should save the file and then import it via the Shuttle Pro Control Panel. Please see the Shuttle Pro Support document (pdf) on our download page as it describes this process in detail. I'm sure I'm missing something , but the shuttle pro2 pref file is zipped and I cant open it with winzip or anything I have on 3 different pc's. Do I need something special to get into it? I'm sure its an easy one to solve. Having many other dramas trying to set everything up for the first time , but working through the probs one by one !! Keith, It opened fine here. Perhaps you got a bad download. Try downloading it again. The file can just be unzipped to your desktop. Use the ShuttlePro Support document for instructions on how to import the file.
