Larry, You are absolutely correct! 73, Ray, K9DUR http://k9dur.info -Original Message- From: Larry [mailto:robi...@bex.net] Sent: Friday, May 18, 2012 4:50 PM To: Ray, K9DUR Cc: 'Stephen Victor'; FlexRadio@flex-radio.biz Subject: Re: [Flexradio] Future of 5000a Ray .. nobody has yet pointed out that the OLD Flex SDR1000A is still a champ and is still supported in every way! This morning I was on with mine, running PowerSDR 2.3.5, with all of the whistles and bells. It has a dated serial showing that it was made in the 19th week of 2006. I see much the same questions here that I saw back when the 5000A came out. Congratulations to the Flex bunch on the new radio. It has set a mark that others won't hit for a long time! -- Larry W8ER ___ FlexRadio Systems Mailing List FlexRadio@flex-radio.biz http://mail.flex-radio.biz/mailman/listinfo/flexradio_flex-radio.biz Archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/flexradio%40flex-radio.biz/ Knowledge Base: http://kc.flexradio.com/ Homepage: http://www.flexradio.com/
Re: [Flexradio] Future of 5000a
Steve, As has been pointed out earlier, the FLEX-5000A, the FLEX-3000, & the FLEX-1500 all fill their own niche in the marketplace. Flex has stated that these models are still necessary and will continue to be manufactured & supported. Also, they have made it clear that development work on PowerSDR will continue into the foreseeable future. When one of the big 3 manufacturers introduce a new top-of-the-line whiz-bang model, do they discontinue the less expensive models just because they have a new (and different) model? No! Same logic applies here. 73, Ray, K9DUR http://k9dur.info ___ FlexRadio Systems Mailing List FlexRadio@flex-radio.biz http://mail.flex-radio.biz/mailman/listinfo/flexradio_flex-radio.biz Archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/flexradio%40flex-radio.biz/ Knowledge Base: http://kc.flexradio.com/ Homepage: http://www.flexradio.com/
Re: [Flexradio] Future of 5000a
The FLEX-1500, FLEX-3000 and FLEX-5000 all represent very high performance radios that occupy a particular price point in the amateur radio market which provides great value and we have no plans to discontinue their manufacturer and distribution. We will continue to develop and fully support PowerSDR for the foreseeable future.
