I had a quick look at my favourite airfield yesterday and I saw that
the modified airport generator somehow shows similarities to TaxiDraw:
They both don't render stopways. Although the shape of the green
boundary suggests the presence of a stopway, it actually isn't there.
I don't have the time to provide screenshots this morning because I
have to leave soon, anyone interested might have a look at LCHM (only
available in David's airfiled data).

[Flightgear-devel] NAV1 and NAV2 borked in CVS

2004-12-04 Thread Chris Metzler

NAV1 and NAV2 are broken in CVS, apparently independent of
choice of aircraft.  I've tried them on the c172, c310, and 737;
Melchior checked the last two and found the same thing. Doesn't
matter what frequency/radial you set or your distance from the
transmitter -- the display is dead.

This is a bug I presume because I do not know of any inner markers
located directly on the runway thresholds and it stops once the sim is
 loaded.

I have to turn my sound down when starting FG, it's so loud.

Just to follow up on this -- I can't confirm this; it doesn't happen
for me. But it does happen for people other than Paul; there've been
users coming into the #flightgear IRC channel asking about how to
fix this.

I can confirm it under Windows (haven't tried Linux though)
It even played when I had the old sound card driver and FGFS didn't
start (see older threads).

Yes, that is because of the recent migration to /instrumentation from /radios.
I forgot to update the generic instrumentation config and the generic
electrical config. I sent the new files to Curt last night, so I hope they
will be in CVS soon. In the mean time here are the diffs:

There are also *numerous* occurrences of radios/ in *.nas files and in
*.xml files, where they weren't precedeced by a slash and thus weren't
replaced by the find/perl command line.

You're right, thanks!

Curt, here's more work for you, or anyone else with CVS submit privileges. The
general idea is that every occurrence of radios/ should be replaced by
instrumentation/. Use the find/perl command line in the CVS log message as
a starting point.

No, most of the occurrences of radios. There are things like these in
*-set.xml
files, too:

  radios
  dme
  switch-position1/switch-position
  /dme
  /radios

Some if these have to me merged with already existing instrumentation groups
after renaming.
