Yes, but Ruud (the author) clearly states otherwise and has consistently
fought attempts by some to redefine his stated intent. Personally, I don't
think Ruud realizes what he's doing. He's got some pipe dream that someone is
going to come along and offer him big bucks for his engine. I've seen the
code and wouldn't consider it that marketable. But who knows. As it stands I
think he would certainly gain by licensing under GPL. Right now anyone could
read it and steal his ideas, if not the code, for commercial purpose and he
would have no real recourse. In the end though I strongly believe it is the
author's right to license her or his code any way they like, and I find it
annoying when GPL champions try to pressure programmers to do otherwise.
