This might not be what you are looking for, but you can set the log level with 
the --log-level={bulk,debug,info,warn,alert} command line option.

Where can I find the output of SG_LOG?
Because I don't get any output on the command line.
Or can I use printf / cout? (these commands don't seem to work either)
