Re: [Flightgear-devel] Terragear memory usage issue

2011-11-01 Thread Jason Cox
Chris,
short of knowing how to tell versions of code with git all I can say is
that I pulled the repo on the 20th of October for both terragear-cs and
compiled it against the main simgear of the same day.

If there is a way to ask git the version then let me know and I will
report back for you.

Jason

PS I have uploaded some more scenery for NSW,Vic and Tas to my dropbox
account for those interested

Hi James,

Would it make sense to put something similar to README.cmake in the simgear
source tree as well?

Thanks,

Curt.

[Flightgear-devel] Automake removed from Git/next

2011-11-01 Thread James Turner
Hello,

A bit later than planned, the automake build system has been removed from Git.
There's very likely some edge cases and unusual combinations that the Cmake
system doesn't handle still, so please report any problems or omissions you
encounter, and we'll do our best to fix them up.

If you need to setup a Cmake build environment, Brisa's script has been
updated, or there's instructions in Git (README.cmake) and on the wiki.
Improvements and feedback on all those documents are also welcome - there's
already been some additional improvements today.

The documentation already states it, but, PLEASE build outside the source dir,
as recommended - it will simplify your life.

Regards,
James

Is this fine? With link to the questions page or so?

[Flightgear-devel] FlightGear Newsletter - October 2011

2011-11-01 Thread Gijs de Rooy

It's my honour to present you the fresh October edition of our monthly
newsletter!
It's a nicely filled edition, with a couple of interesting
developments featured.

As of this month we'll also have a monthly
"interview" with a contributor. The idea is
 that contributors pick interview
questions and answer them by themselves. Anyone
interested to write next
month's interview? You can either send me the interview, or
 put it in the
newsletter yourself.

Contributions for this month are welcome at the
wiki.

But first it's time to enjoy the October
edition! --

You cannot simply merge a subdirectory. You should clone fgdata, add your
aircraft to your
clone and then request a merge from that one.
See http://wiki.flightgear.org/FlightGear_and_Git#Cloning_fgdata
and http://wiki.flightgear.org/FlightGear_Git_on_Windows (written for windows,
but the commands work similar on other OS)

Ok so now I've added it as:

http://www.flightgear.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=11040&start=60

If I do a git merge, as above, it seems to put into a wrong directory? Any
changes needed?
And how/who to ask for Flightgear inclusion?
Thanks
Michael

I created a 2x3 degree area. No problems. What terragear-cs version do you
use and against which simgear do you compile it?

Will now test even further and create another area.
