Press release buffered opening and reception: saturday, 27 january, 6-10pm at: basekamp site 723 chestnut st second floor phila pa 19106 215.592.7288 three artists who often produce technologically similar works have been invited to interact on their own terms at the basekamp site. the result is buffered, a new exhibition by aaron igler, justin matherly, and eric mcdade. the format of the show, an interconnected network of separate spaces containing image and audio installations, was generated collaboratively by the artists. yet each has been able to retain individual authorship within this framework through a focus on their own respective projects. the work as a whole is a formal and theoretical amalgam of both isolation and interactivity. the opening and reception will be on saturday 27 jan 2001 from 6 to 10 pm. additionally, the show will be on view by appointment and on the internet until 27 February 2001. for more info and a schedule of buffered events, visit our website at http://www.basekamp.com/

Each card is addressed for mailing in the artist's hand and postmarked. A rare complete and mailed example of the most ambitious and long-lived of postal sculpture works from the heroic period of Concept art. I always assumed that the name was changed from Bruce to David because the name "Bruce" had gay connotations acsribed to in US pop culture in the late seventies. Bill Bixby was kind of a sad guy, on TV anyway. First Eddie's father then the beleagured Hulk. He should have been given a turn as a TV private detective like everyone else was. But then he might have ended up being an introspective sullen, Beckett-esque anti-detective. "But what would be the point of finding your husband, ma'am? The truth will only lead to dissappointment." Anyhow the Absorbing Man had finally been contained and in jailyou see the problem, he can absorb anything..he really can be a man of steel as oppose to that Kent lad whose only similarity to steel is a combination of luck and his proximity to the red sun of Krypton. So the Absorbing Man was contained in a cardboard box because absorbing that would make him weak, so he stays in the box..of course the cell leaks a little and the box gets damp, our Absorbing buddy sees his chance and becomes water, escapes and a few pages later engages in fisticuffs with that green muscle-bound radiation boy we've come to know and love, although we don't like him when he's angry... cue music.walking along at the side of the road, bag over one shoulder.one of TV's saddest weekly moments in the seventies. cheers, Sol.
