RE: FLUXLIST: TWO PAINTED CARDS AVAILABLE

2005-01-15 Thread Don Boyd
Dear RUUD, I answered your posting not to get a card but because I liked
your self-portrait on Crispin' new website. I don't do much mail art
anymore. I used to send leather objects but that is too expensive now as the
leather is split sheepskin and there is no local source. I started using
sheepskin in the late sixties to wrap objects. Ken Friedman saw some of them
at my house in South Dakota and liked them. He said,Keep doing those. In
1991 my second wife, Gina, said it was Supid to do those. She died in 1993
but I have not done them since she died. But I do like your paintings. I
would like to have a card and will respond with some leather if you send me
one. -Bests, Don Boyd

Subject: events for allen bukoff(?)

dear all,
as you know, allen bukoff has left fluxlist to pursue other projects.
allen was instrumental in the founding of fluxlist and has been
responsible for its running ever since (until christmas day 2004).
allen was an important part of fluxlist and i for one shall miss his
presence here. an interesting character and a fun person whom i have had
the pleasure to meet twice in the past couple of years allen is also a
much underrated artist - (having checked out his professional CV i often
wonder how he ever has time for his Fluxus Midwest and Candy Band
promotion stuff) - actively encouraged by dick higgins and admired by
emily harvey - not bad!
anyway, as it was one of allen's websites that really got me into
exploring fluxus on a deeper level (the Fluxus Indian Museum - if you have
not already, you MUST check it out), the freeformfreakout organisation
would like to produce a website of works by fluxlist members, inspired by
allen bukoff.

1. check out allen bukoff at the following links (if you find more cool)
http://www.allenbukoff.com/
http://www.nutscape.com/creativity/html/consulting.htm
http://www.calarts.edu/~nudell/archive/klondikebody.html
http://www.nutscape.com/ (the bathrooms of madison county)
http://www.fluxus.org/housework/index.htm
http://www.mteww.com/appleandorange/index2.html
2.submit a piece of artwork via email to me at [EMAIL PROTECTED]
events scores
poetry
digital images (including photos of performances performed)
instructions
texts
(any emailable format)
inspired by 'allen bukoff'
3.participants may submit more than one entry - all entries to be
used - (no returns!)

4. resultant works will be exhibited on the freeformfreakout
organisation website (with the slight possibilty of other documentation
to follow)

5.go on! go on! go on! go on! go on! go on! go on! go on! go on! go
on! go on! go on! go on! go on! go on! go on! go on! go on! go on! go on!

Re: FLUXLIST: Call for fluxwork to borrow

2005-01-15 Thread ArtnAnts
I am doing an exhibit in June at the Cannery Row Antiques Mall-they have a great gallery space upstairs. If anyone is interested in sending me work- it can be anything --preferably small because the showcases are not that big. They will be locked and I will be very good about returning the work. The work will be there for two months. The work should be Fluxus or Mail Art in nature since that is the theme. Any way let me know. I will make more noise about it as it approaches. Madawg
