FLUXLIST: Josh/Screenprinting

2005-07-14 Thread Sol Nte
Hi Josh,

I do mail art. Irregularly. Primarily I am a musician so most of my art
time is spent on that. I have been trying to think on what I want to do with
Mail Art, which projects I want to do and how I want to approach them. I
think I want to start doing screenprinting.

I've been meaning to experiment with screenprinting but not got round to it
yet. If you learn anything good let me know.

Mark Pawson did some interesting experiments with the Print Gocco which is a
little A6 screen print kit from Japan.

cheers,

Sol.

Yes the Gocco printing method is very like screen
printing but on a Lilliputian scale- just right for
making postcards. mark came to our house last year and
made a limited edition of 500 cards for his PRINT MORE
POSTCARDS project which was great fun and only took a
few hours (allowing for drying time). Its a shame they
are so hard to get hold of in the u.k.

I noticed that our Box #1 is displayed at this website.
Does anyone (who knows the language better than I)
know anything more about this site?

it's about arquitech projects, the site is for workshop exercises for art /
literature / engineere and so on... so those are either objects for analisis
and/or exercise, there are also showing the students works, let me know
exactly what you need help for translation and I'll assist you

Thanks! Just being curious... I was looking for the first Fluxlist
box website in order to show someone.
It wasn't listed on Sol's Fluxlist archive page, so I went looking
and accidentally found the PA site

which had it and some other interesting projects and artworks.

Thanks again Bibiana,

Rod

Oops, my last message to the list was supposed to be private. Did I write
anything exceedingly embarassing?

While we are discussing the topic, other hints/links re: screenprinting would
be helpful.

BLENDER AND SOAP

These images depict two works that I found that were very interesting and a
little disturbing ...
the first image is a bar of soap that was made by Gianni Motti, from the fat
from a liposuction hospital.. the fat was from the Italian prime minister
Silvio
Berlusconi’s.

The other pic is a piece that consited of 10 blenders with fish in each plugged
in and creating a sort of blame shifting of responsibility.. for the death of a
fish..
