Hello Simon,

This also applies to the printed version of the document. Please, see the
pictures attached.

(Unfortunately , this representation is not only in Paraphernalia )

(I used from cmd this command: copy C:\embeddFontOneLine.pcl /b
\ \p2055  ( p2055 is my PCL5 printer).

Moreover, it seems, that it is printing the letters, that are on this position,
but on the ttf font.

Wish you a nice day

Kind regards,

Maria

Hello Simon,

This also applies to the printed version of the document. Please, see the
pictures attached.

(It is not only in Paraphernalia )

(I used from cmd this command: copy C:\...\embeddFontOneLine.pcl /b \\p2055
 ( p2055 is my PCL5 printer).

Wish you a nice day

Kind regards,

Maria

Hello[ Simon
Steiner|https://issues.apache.org/jira/secure/ViewProfile.jspa?name=ssteiner],

Excuse me for the delay.

Tried with your suggestion, now when optimize-resources is true, in Red Titan
we have all of the symbols:

!image-2023-11-09-11-39-34-302.png|width=387,height=139!

But in PCL Paraphernalia (print analysis tool) symbols are still in form of
numbers and punctoation:

!image-2023-11-09-11-41-17-089.png|width=441,height=70!

The same applies for the printed document.

Also, found that if I remove , there is no warning for
checksum calculation.

Attached to this task is the fop.xconfig file, that I used for Apache Fop.

Thank you again

Kind regards,

Maria

Hello Simon,

It is almost well displayed in Red Titan.

In in PCL Paraphernalia (print analysis tool), errors persist - symbols are
represented again as before and again error for invalid sequence and warning
for checksum and   at the end of file.

( true is added)

Thank you again

Kind regards,

Maria

Hello Simon,

Thank you for the suggestion, unfortunately, this does not fix  the problem.

But, I've got more. If we do the test with only one block container from the FO
file:

*+When optimize-resources for pcl is true:+*

It is almost well displayed in Red Titan, but in in PCL Paraphernalia (print
analysis tool), symbols are represented again as before, but  we have an error:

!image-2023-11-02-19-36-16-242.png|width=271,height=70!

and

!image-2023-11-02-19-37-25-203.png|width=503,height=126!

and

!image-2023-11-02-19-38-00-072.png|width=494,height=78!

*+When we do not have optimize-resources for pcl:+*

It is almost well displayed in Red Titan.

In in PCL Paraphernalia (print analysis tool), symbols are represented again as
before and again error for invalid sequence and warning for checksum, but no
 at the end of file.

Attached are :

[^embeddFontOneLine.fo]

[^embeddFontOneLineSimpleProject.pcl]

Thank you for helping again

Wish you a nice day

Kind regards,

Mariya

Hello Simon,

Thank you for the suggestion, unfortunately, this does not fix  the problem.

But, I've got more. If we do the test with only one block container from the FO
file:

*+When optimize-resources for pcl is true:+*

It is almost well displayed in Red Titan, but in in PCL Paraphernalia (print
analysis tool), symbols are represented again as before, but  we have an error:

!image-2023-11-02-19-36-16-242.png|width=271,height=70!

and

!image-2023-11-02-19-37-25-203.png|width=503,height=126!

and

!image-2023-11-02-19-38-00-072.png|width=494,height=78!

*+When we do not have optimize-resources for pcl:+*

It is almost well displayed in Red Titan.

In in PCL Paraphernalia (print analysis tool), symbols are represented again as
before and again error for invalid sequence and warning for checksum, but no
 at the end of file.

Thank you for helping again

Wish you a nice day

Kind regards,

Mariya

In both cases there is no change in the printed text- it is as in Paraphernalia
(
|8932|Data| |"#$ %$&'( ) *# +,'-. '/0.$ &*(&*.1 &*(&*. .*2+ '/0.$|

Description:
Hello,

There are differences in line breaks in pdf between small and large paragraphs
of same text.

Case 1: If the text in the paragraph is cut to three lines long, line breaks
are at one position but if the same text is left to ten or more lines, line
breaks for the same first three lines are not at the same position.

Case 2: Also if nine lines long text is cut to eight lines long text, there is
a difference in line breaks from line two onwards in comparison to the original
text.

The fo file used for this two test cases is attached.

I can see that in Apache Fop source code if the font is in base 14 fonts it
gets it's original metrics, but if it is not it uses metrics for serif (Times).
Is this the only possible reason for such a difference.

The fo file used for this two test cases is attached.

text.

I can see that in Apache Fop source code if the font is in base 14 fonts it
gets it's original metrics, but if it is not it uses metrics for serif (Times).
Is this the only possible reason for such a differnce.

The fo file used for this two test cases is attached.

Case 2: Also if nine lines long text is cut to eight lines long text, there is
a difference in line breaks from line two onwards in comparison to the original
text.

I can see that in Apache Fop source code if the font is in base 14 fonts it
gets it's original metrics, but if it is not it uses metrics for serif (Times).
Is this the only possible reason for such a differnce.
