Please download and edit the agreement to insert your contact information in
place of the blue text. Then sign and send the original to the address
shown, via post.

I will enable "push" for any competent programmer for whom I have a
copyright release on file.

Yes, this is a hassle to have to go through in order to contribute to an
open-source project. I wish it were easier too. Please complain to your
congress-beings, however, and not to me. I did not make the laws; I'm only
trying to comply with them.

Hello,

I wrote the "Behavior" section and am eager to get it back into the
trunk. If someone could point me to the "copyright release"
agreement, I will gladly sign it.

Is there an approved way to contribute to fossil?

Thanks, drh. Makes me even more excited about contributing more when I
can make time.

But you did not ask for a release, you asked for an assignment. Not the
same thing at all. Which is why you didn't get one from me. I don't
particularly care about the license.

But may I observe that this is pointless if no-one who has not assigned
their copyright to you can contribute to it.

The trunk of the Fossil source tree now uses the Simplified (2-clause)
BSD License. Code contributions from people for whom I do not have a
copyright release on file have been removed from the trunk and "push"
privileges for those people have been revoked.

The original GPL code line continues in a branch named "gpl".

What is your functional goal for switching from GPL to BSD license ?
