The already discussed Tomboy was the only one in the release set that came to my mind right away. There are others not included in the release set, but hosted on gnome.org (Banshee comes to my mind here). Anyways, the question still stands, even independant from licensing discussions: Which applications is addons.gnome.org planning to serve? Only the release set? All projects on git.gnome.org? Everything with a connection to GNOME, even if hosted outside? Holger ___ foundation-list mailing list foundation-list@gnome.org http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/foundation-list

There are some desktop apps that are LGPL'd or even MIT'd, for which non-free addons could legally be developed. Though that may seem boring and not shiny enough to excite people, my personal number one missing feature is general purpose undo/redo support at a low level in the stack. Currently, some applications have undo, other don't. Amongst those that have it, they often only have it for a small number of specific widgets (e.g. GtkTextView) or actions, and the code is often copy/pasted around. If it's not copy/pasted around, risks are that the behaviour gets inconsistent amongst applications etc. I absolutely agree with [1] that missing undo support is one of the biggest current usability flaws, and I think the stack should encourage its implementation in applications by offering a nice framework for it. My biggest contribution to the GNOME project so far was the split-view mode for Nautilus (well, the version that Alex based his review on, of course). Other than that, I listed some recent modest contributions and areas of interest in my application form: http://mail.gnome.org/archives/membership-committee/2010-February/msg00018.html Other than that, I'm a Germany-based free software enthusiast. On the non-GNOME FOSS background side, I am a team member of the Claws Mail MUA. And of course, I am totally exciting to be part of the GNOME foundation now!
