Well is a reason I'm so exciting about Builder and have encouraged [1] [2]
our community to support Christian's effort.

I know there have been suggestions [3] [4] about doing some kind
research among web starts-up about what exact tools they use/need.

I wounder if some companies really understand that by founding some
work which would be for a well founded company a very small investment
they could make really great, needed improvements of our platform. A
second question is if people who have talked to start-ups have
mentioned this possibly? A third question is can the foundation do the
proceess of founding specific work that needs to be done to enhance
our platform easier?

  * At least in Portland, GNOME is a very well recognized brand, 7/10
times it needs no explanation; similar story among developers in some venues
in NYC; we have a strong brand
+1 Its also my impression that GNOME is a loved brand, thus I think
its important that we a) Nurture it b) Think more about how we can it
use to our advantage c) Be better at telling our story.

Of course every task involve a subject of smaller tasks and is
something that takes a good amount of time and is depending on
people's efforts.

Oh, this was not written down in the minutes, but the last two topics
(reviewing tasks, ED search) were not touched upon during the meeting,
they were deferred (as it often happens given the big amount of topics
that need discussion); we were already well over our allocated meeting
time that day and we saw them as being big topics each.

Hmm, remaining? Was some of the money spent already? What was it spent on?

The GNOME Privacy project funds were never touched, seems a bad
phrasing was used and the text became misleading. I've updated all the
references for the next meeting minutes to clarify that.

Clearly, we don't have anything new to report on that front. However,
I do plan on having a discussion at FOSDEM and figure out how to go
about organizing this. We should have some relevant people there to
start a discussion. At the moment, myself, Marina, and Kat are
responsible in putting this together. I'll post an update after
FOSDEM since there are some of you who are interested in this.

I like this idea, however in my day to day hacking and speaking, I
already unofficially advocate for GNOME.
Examples: when speaking at conferences, visiting hackerspaces, talking
to random people, friends, and so on, I'm showing off a GNOME
environment.

One issue which could be (inexpensively) addressed by the foundation:
I received ~four GNOME stickers from Karen Sandler when she was in
Montreal. I've given them all out. If I had a bunch more it would
surely (I think) help the marketing efforts. is there anyone out there
who wants to send me a bunch?
