RE: Modbus gateways discontinued?
As far as I know relating to Modbus integration
products:
Effective January 1, 2001, Communications
Processor 30,
Part No. P0960HA will be removed from IQS and I/A
Store
and will be replaced with the Communications
Processor 30B, (Part #P0961BD).
It will be supported via Repair only.
Effective January 1, 2001, the following will be
removed from I/A Store and IQS.
P0960MA Modbus Plus Integrator Module due to low
volume and end of life on
the components. It will be supported via Repair
only.
For Modbus RTU Master/slave on one of my projects I
have opted
for Micro I/A with Modbus on one of its serial
ports.The block structure is
different to that of the gateway / integrators,
however it gives you the added advantage
of doing control using physical i/o and integrating
to Modbus devices on one module

We use the Allen-Bradley and Modbus Integrators. Does
this mean no future
development or no
further support?
We've been waiting a long time for improved
Allen-Bradley support . We
were promised ethernet
communications over two years ago.

When did this get announced? Is this the Integrator
line? What about the
Allen-Bradley ones? What is Invensys' proposed
replacement?
We don't have Modbus but have 3 A-B Integrator 30s.
Some other plants at
our
site do use MB Integrators though.
