Putting ECBs on/off line without using System Monitor
Does anyone know of a way to put ECBs on and off line without using the System Monitor? I would like to be able to do this from a program or script file but do not know of a way to do it. Wouldn't it be nice if Foxboro brought the BlinkTask into the 20th century. There are tons of systems out in the world that run DM on some form of X connection like PCX, Exceed, GoGlobal and dare I say Linux and they will for many years to come. How many people, using those systems, love to go to 16/24bit colours because other applications demand that but they can't because the BlinkTask can't handle it. V6.3 and Exceed
Help! Since we have upgraded our workstations to version 6.3 the displays served via the 2nd Ethernet port (Hummingbird Exceed) no longer work at any other desktop setting than 1024 X 768 and 256 colors. Otherwise they simply get a window filled with black. Prior to the upgrade, MOST of the 100 or so users could get it to work at 800 X 600 and SOME of those with High Color. Any suggestions? --- This list is neither sponsored nor endorsed by the Foxboro Company. Re: Portable PC
I believe there is a company that makes an expensive Class I Div 2, Group notebook, but I can not remember their name. Contact Warren Meyer at Foxboro to get a lead. I forget what groups the notebook was good for, but it was not sufficient to meet all of our classification needs. Re: FBM 211
Yes, the 211 can be used for 0-20mA inputs as well as 4-20mA inputs, you just change the sci parameter. We have some FBM 211's (16 input differential) at our mill as well as FBM 201's (8 point isolated). With the 211 you use a different TCA (termination cable assembly) depending upon whether you need your loop powered or if it is externally powered. With this scheme all 16 points on a FBM are I/A powered or field powered. The 201 lets you mix I/A powered and field powered loops on the same module. We have a good luck with the 201's, not so good with the 211's. We ran into problems (ground loops? not sure) with 211's that were field powered, so we replaced all of those with 201's. We still have seven 211's that provide loop power. There is a CAR about 211 points "freezing" or stopping updating, their is also a fix for this. We have put in a CAR for a similar problem with no resolution yet. We have seen on 2 occurrences 8 points out of 16 elevate or lower by approximately 25% and then continue to update but with incorrect readings. I would not suggest 211's for critical points. AW: Changing block type in ICC
> This is really cumbersome, and there has to be a better way ! There isn't really. But if you have more blocks to convert you could probably write a shell script which outputs an ICC Driver script that does the job for you (save source code, create a new block with the necessary parameter settings, compile it, etc.). But what has to be in this script really depends on what you want to do exactly. Regards, Sascha --- This list is neither sponsored nor endorsed by the Foxboro Company.
