RE: Ethernet port
What do you see when you run 'ifconfig -a'? Here's the response from one of my D-style boxes: 21AW01-dmdo ifconfig -a lo0: flags=849UP,LOOPBACK,RUNNING,MULTICAST mtu 8232 inet 127.0.0.1 netmask ff00 hme0: flags=863UP,BROADCAST,NOTRAILERS,RUNNING,MULTICAST mtu 1500 inet 151.128.21.65 netmask broadcast 151.128.255.255 hme1: flags=863UP,BROADCAST,NOTRAILERS,RUNNING,MULTICAST mtu 1500 inet 151.163.74.51 netmask f800 broadcast 151.163.79.255 Hope this helps. Suddenly it ceased to recognize the network as if we diconeccted the cable (if you try a ping from the network it would not answer). No need to say that we already checked that we have network signal at that port. Is there any way to force the AW to rescan/reset this port without rebooting it? Thank you all in advance. RE: Ethernet port
The ifconfig command can be used to reconfigure the port. There is an update to the Ethernet driver to fix a number of defects. You need to contact the Customer Satisfaction Center and ask about a QF for the Ethernet Driver on 50 Series AWs. I don't remember the QF number. Martin, I suggest that you read the manual page for ifconfig. You can completely reconfigure a network interface in Solaris without rebooting. h Harry Forbes Invensys Process Systems Marketing +1 508.549.6389 office +1 617.335.1474 mobile [EMAIL PROTECTED] -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [SMTP:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Monday, August 27, 2001 9:38 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Ethernet port Hi everyone, I have a problem on the second ethernet port of an AW51, coneccted to the corporate network. RE: Ethernet port
Here is the complete information: There are 2 QFs. One for the le driver and 1 for the hme driver. The le QF is appiled to 51A, 51B and 51C type stations. The hme QF is applied to 51D and 51E type stations. So, the table is: Device Station Types QF le 51a/b/c QF990944C hme 51d/e QF992053B I would make sure that anyone who is connected to a corporate network install the correct QF for their machine. Check with your FS personnel for more information.
