RE: ListServer Archive/Aspen DMC with I/A
We were interested in pursuing that system when we decided to install DMC but opted against it. Aspen was just developing their graphics for an NT DMC system and we were not too impressed at the time. We have since installed DMCBridge (a Foxboro repackaging of Aspen DMC) and are satisfied with it. It generates the displays for you after running through a few configuration scripts and all in all is a good product. We are currently Beta testing their SmartStep product on our second DMC controller and it looks promising. Chad Airhart Senior Instrument, Electrical Control Systems Engineer Equistar Chemicals, LP. One thing to note about DMC+ Bridge is that it does not run on WP70's. -Original Message- From: Airhart, Chad M. RE: ListServer Archive
Duc and list, What's your assessment on the archive, Harry? Is there any chance it gets resurrected? I could not get the archive to run robustly on the shared server. The same server hosts about 18 SiteScape forums and is also used for some other key services here. The folks in IT absolutely hate to boot it. So it would have to be resurrected in some other form. h Harry Forbes Invensys Process Systems Marketing +1 508.549.6389 office +1 617.335.1474 mobile [EMAIL PROTECTED] --- This list is neither sponsored nor endorsed by the Foxboro Company. RE: ListServer Archive
Why wouldn't you use the DMCplus Bridge and run the controller on the 50-Series AW/AP? It's standard product developed, sold, and supported by both AspenTech and Foxboro. It provides access to all DMCplus Controller data through OM Variables on the AP/AW. It builds a standard set of displays automatically and can configure the historian. It's dead simple to apply. It's also pretty cheap.
