Re: [fpc-devel]What are you guys doing besides developing FPC

Just wonder. Does your work relate to pascal-compiler ? pascal-software ?

I don't think any of the core developers uses FPC full-time for his job.
Maybe for some side projects. I personally use Delphi for all programming.
As soon as Lazarus is up to it, I will make the switch, though.

How much time do you typically spend on fpc ?

That depends on who you ask:
For the core developers: Too little time.
For their partners: Way too much, most likely. :-)

[fpc-devel]Make clean fails for cvs.

2004-07-12 Thread Vincent Snijders
Hi,

If I do make distclean in the fpc root dir, I get the following error:

make[2]: *** No rule to make target `dbase_clean', needed by `clean'.
Stop.
make[1]: *** [db_clean] Error 2
make: *** [fcl_distclean] Error 2

Make fcl gives:
make[2]: *** No rule to make target `dbase_all', needed by `all'. Stop.
make[1]: *** [db_all] Error 2
make: *** [fcl] Error 2

It is probably related to the latest change in fpc/fcl/db/Makefile.fpc.

Regards,
Vincent.

Already fixed in cvs.

[fpc-devel]Version numbers in the CVS

2004-07-12 Thread Joost van der Sluis
Hello,

is there a reason that the version numbers in the CVS are different? Some
parts has version number 1.9.5, some has 1.9.4. Just a simple
search-replace doesn't work since you then also change the change-logs.

So maybe this just has still to be done?

It gave problems when i've tried to build the RPM.

Joost van der Sluis.

Updating the version in fpc.spec to 1.9.5 should be enough to get the rpm
working. Only the version for packaging and the version in the compiler
sources are important

uploaded the latest w32_195 snapshot, as requested. I'll try to do this
every day that the make works from now on. It's in the release format.
Regards John

 BTW:
Can somebody produce a new fpc win32 binary snapshot?
