Formatting - setting font size to a percentage rather than a point size

2013-03-28 Thread Steve Whalley
Hi All,

We're starting to use TCS3.5 to create help builds (using RoboHelp 9) from
FrameMaker(10) files. To enable Web scaling of size (which is good for: the
visually impaired, smartphones and tablets) we'd like to set the font sizes to
percentages (for example, 100% =Body, Heading2 =120%, Heading1=140%). However,
I can't see/find out how to do this. The Paragraph and Character Designers only
seem to allow you to set point sizes. The FrameMaker help mentions the 'Font
Pod', but I couldn't see/understand how this might be used. Any thoughts or
suggestions would be very welcome.

Many thanks - Steve

ExtendScript Improvements in FrameMaker 11

2013-03-28 Thread Joseph Lorenzini
Hi all,

I am using TCS 3.5. This means I use unstructured FM 10 for PDF documents
and RoboHelp 9 for help systems. I looked at TCS 4.0 and so far I have
found the new version underwhelming. If I had structured FM or needed some
of the new SSL in Robohelp, it might be a different story. But for someone
who uses unstructured FM and webhelp, there's nothing really there there as
far as I can tell.

And no I couldn't care less about illustratror.

One thing that may make me seriously consider upgrading to FrameMaker 11 is
if Adobe fixed the bugs and feature gaps in the ExtendScript
implementation in FM. However, I haven't been able to find out any
information about that.

Does anyone know?

Thanks,

messages to fmer...@adobe.com bounce

2013-03-28 Thread Suzanne Bolduc
hi,

would someone know what happens with the e-mail alias
fmerror@adobe.comlately? When FM crashed earlier this week I tried
sending the log file as I
normally do but this time it bounced. I tried resending again, and tried a
couple more times over the last days, to no avail.

the Delivery Failure Report tells me that my message
was not delivered to:fmer...@adobe.com
because:550 No such user - psmtp

I know I was still able to send log files to this address in January.

I found forum posts about a similar issue with an Adobe e-mail alias for a
different product, but that problem had reportedly been resolved at some
point.

is Adobe experiencing problems with their e-mail servers? or are these
aliases being retired?

2013-03-28 Thread Dov Isaacs
I can confirm that there is indeed a problem with the
fmer...@adobe.commailto:fmer...@adobe.com e-mail address. It is directly
accessible within Adobe, but bounces everything addressed to it from outside.

I have put in a service call to Adobe’s IT group to fix that problem ASAP.

I’ll let the list know when the problem is resolved (assuming they respond to
me!) ☺

fair amount of changes, but probably not in things that you'll use much.

There could be changes outside of the FDK as well .. but this gives you
one slice of info.

messages to fmer...@adobe.com bounce

2013-03-28 Thread Suzanne Bolduc
hi,

would someone know what happens with the e-mail alias
fmerror at adobe.comlately? When FM crashed earlier this week I tried
sending the log file as I
normally do but this time it bounced. I tried resending again, and tried a
couple more times over the last days, to no avail.

the Delivery Failure Report tells me that my message
was not delivered to:fmerror at adobe.com
because:550 No such user - psmtp

I know I was still able to send log files to this address in January.

I found forum posts about a similar issue with an Adobe e-mail alias for a
different product, but that problem had reportedly been resolved at some
point.

is Adobe experiencing problems with their e-mail servers? or are these
aliases being retired?

thanks,
Suzanne

messages to fmer...@adobe.com bounce

2013-03-28 Thread Dov Isaacs
I can confirm that there is indeed a problem with the fmerror at
adobe.com<mailto:fmerror at adobe.com> e-mail address. It is directly
accessible within Adobe, but bounces everything addressed to it from outside.

I have put in a service call to Adobe?s IT group to fix that problem ASAP.

I?ll let the list know when the problem is resolved (assuming they respond to
me!) ?
