2016-09-19 Thread Abhishek Jain
Hello Everyone,

Just wanted to add a note on Beta testing.

We will be rolling out a Pre-release for 2017 Release of FrameMaker in early
October.

In this release we have done numerous fixes to the interface and the problem
with HD displays will also be resolved.

We are finishing things at our end and I'll be reaching out with more details
in due course.

Dear all,

Reading in the conference programme I see this:

Tuesday, November 11: Adobe Systems GmbH:

Sneak Preview of the next FrameMaker Generation Stephan Gentz / Vivek Kumar

Has anybody heard whether beta-testing has already started? On the website
www.adobeprerelease.com<http://www.adobeprerelease.com> there is no notion of
FrameMaker.

I'm eager to know whether at least some of the issues from my long list
(presented during beta FM-13) have been addressed, for example:

- Will the UI cope with high density monitors?

- Awful dialogue for sorting in table revised?

- German quotation marks no more a "punctuation error"?

- ...

You may look at the full list at

http://www.daube.ch/zz_tests/FM-future-requirements.pdf

While new fancy features are certainly welcome by many of the (younger) users,
many old problems are overdue to be solved. And generally: a fault such the
awful dialogue mentioned should not happen at all ...

While running my English FM with fmres.dll for the German interface (to check
my Enhanced Tool bars ETB-FM13-de) I noticed that many fields - even constant
text - are to short for the German text. Is this a false observation?
Unfortunately the new dialogues in owlres.dll can not be checked without a
complete FM-installation.

[Framers] Adobe Webinars - Information

2016-08-30 Thread Abhishek Jain
Hello Framers,

There were some concerns raised related to accessibility of past webinar
recordings.
Please note that we are diligently working on these issues and some of them
have already been fixed.
We are also working on a fix where users won't be required to re-register for
accessing the recordings.

Following are some ready references:

- Adobe Tech Comm webinars:
https://meetus.adobeevents.com/technicalcommunication (One can filter by TYPE =
RECORDINGS to get to the on-demand recordings, and have 100 webinars displayed
per page to search through)

- List of recorded webinars on Adobe Tech Comm blog:
https://blogs.adobe.com/techcomm/2015/12/new-list-of-recoded-adobe-techcomm-webinars.html
 (Last updated Dec 2015)

- A dedicated webinars' section on Adobe Tech Comm blog:
https://blogs.adobe.com/techcomm/category/events/webinars

Thank you for the feedback!

Abhishek Jain
