PDF to Word Conversion

2009-02-10 Thread Ankur Srivastava
Hi Charlene,

I have used Solid PDF Tools converter for converting PDF to MS Word. This
has yielded excellent results in terms of retaining the formatting, table
and figure conversion, as well as editability.

However, i am not sure for large docs extending up to 2000 pages, as is your
case.

HTH

AcroPro 9.0 & FM 7.2 - Do they behave well ?

2009-07-15 Thread Ankur Srivastava
Hello Framers

I have recently switched to Office 2007, which i believe, does not support
Acrobat Professional 7.0. I downloaded an AcroPro v 9.0 trial version, which
seems to mingle well with Office 2007.

Apart from Office 2007, I am an exhaustive user of FM 7.2 also. Now, i have
two queries:

1) Does AcroPro 9.0 behave well with FM 7.2 (i have not tested yet) ?
2) What is the approximate cost of upgarding five AcroPro 7.0 licenses to
AcroPro 9.0 (Adobe support, can you help) ?

Headings disappear in FM document in UNIX environment

Some of the headings in the FM docs opened in UNIX environment (enterprise
VNC viewer) DO NOT appear, i.e., they remain invisible. But, they appear
once something is typed in the heading. However, as soon as the file is
saved, the headings again disappear. We use FM 7.0 and 7.1 are used for
documents.

Can't use my scroll wheel in FM 7 on Mac in Classic

2006-07-20 Thread Ankur Srivastava
Hi Peter,

I don't know whether this would work with Mac or not but there is a
solution:

Frreewheel.exe (it's a free s/w) that allows the mousewheel to work on such
applications (which do not allow NATURALLY to work with mousewheel). Please
refer to the info related to this exe and the ways to download it in the
webpage mentioned below.

You cannot turn the option off but you can select this instead of *always*.

ii) XML and Frame by Kay Ethier

AcroPro 9.0 & FM 7.2 - Do they behave well ?

2009-07-14 Thread Ankur Srivastava
Hello Framers

I have recently switched to Office 2007, which i believe, does not support
Acrobat Professional 7.0. I downloaded an AcroPro v 9.0 trial version, which
seems to mingle well with Office 2007.

Apart from Office 2007, I am an exhaustive user of FM 7.2 also. Now, i have
two queries:

1) Does AcroPro 9.0 behave well with FM 7.2 (i have not tested yet) ?
2) What is the approximate cost of upgarding five AcroPro 7.0 licenses to
AcroPro 9.0 (Adobe support, can you help) ?

regards
Ankur

Portrait & landscape in a singlr document ??

2006-02-21 Thread Ankur SRIVASTAVA
Hi,

I have a small query that whether a "portrait" and a "landscape" page can be
included in the same document
I suppose, it is easier to include them in a book..

Re: Can't use my scroll wheel in FM 7 on Mac in Classic

2006-07-20 Thread Ankur Srivastava

Hi Peter,

I don't know whether this would work with Mac or not but there is a
solution:

Frreewheel.exe (it's a free s/w) that allows the mousewheel to work on such
applications (which do not allow NATURALLY to work with mousewheel). Please
refer to the info related to this exe and the ways to download it in the
webpage mentioned below.

HTH.
Thanks,
Ankur

Hi, Steve:

Thanks for your reply.

I just gave USB Overdrive a test. After installing it and restarting,
it seemed that FM hung, but it might have been that I just didn't set
anything in the USB Overdrive control panel.

I think the best clue in your note is about installing under Classic.
I probably need to install the MS Mouse software under Classic or
restart in 9.22 and install it, then go back to OS X and Classic.

Thanks, again.

Hi Debashish,

I supppose, one can turn this option off by UNCHECKING "Show warning while
clearing history" option.

Hi,
Go to File>Preferences>General.

Select *Once for every history clearing command* option.
You cannot turn the option off but you can select this instead of *always*.

Hope that helps

Does anyone know how to stop the annoying Warning message "Cannot be undone.
Undo history will be lost. Click OK to continue" from appearing every time I
save a file Thanks

Books on EDD development / Advanced Framemaker

2006-10-31 Thread Ankur Srivastava

Hi all,
Can anybody suggest a book (apart from the following books which are already
in my knowledge) on EDD development in Framemaker and advanced framemaker
(XML roundtripping). Better, if these are related to FM 7.2.

i) Advanced Framemaker by Kay Ethier/Robert Kern/Bradley Anderson/Bernard
Aschwanden

ii) XML and Frame by Kay Ethier

Thanks & regards,

Ankur
