Restore numbering properties for Appendices in large book
I have been working on a large User Guide for a software release and concurrently have been updating the templates to coordinate with RoboHelp. I didn't think there were any changes that would affect the numbering properties, but suddenly, when I updated my book, all the appendices are labeled A. No matter what I specify in the numbering dialog boxes, there is no change. I have tried importing the Document Properties from an earlier version where the numbering still is behaving correctly. Now I have two non-contiguous appendices that show B, but all the rest are still A. I am using FrameMaker 10 within TCS3. Does anyone have any suggestions? PDF Problem w/FrameMaker 10 (TechCommSuite3)
We just installed the Technical Communication Suite 3, which took me from Frame 8 to 10 and simultaneously from Acrobat Pro 9 to 10. I updated my document templates and tried to create a PDF, but most of the body text was replaced by a swirly symbol I have never seen before... Some of the headings did print, but not in the correct font (Arial Narrow shows up as something like Times). We've checked fonts and various settings and preferences and cannot make it work!! Has anyone else had this problem? Any suggestions are welcome! PDF Problem w/FrameMaker 10 (TechCommSuite3)
We just installed the Technical Communication Suite 3, which took me from Frame 8 to 10 and simultaneously from Acrobat Pro 9 to 10. Compatibility Issues FM 8 and Windows 7
Hi, I recently had to upgrade my ancient Compaq PC and in the process, IT changed my OS from XP to Windows 7. I have been happily using FM 8 on XP for 3 years, but was willing to learn the new OS. However, shortly after the change, I began to experience a weird phenomena in FM. When I used my mouse to click into text and then drag over any portion of the text to select it for editing deletion, whatever... Frame would freeze. At that point, I tried [Esc] key, but nothing happened. The screen grayed out, except for the little rotating circle and a dialog box informed me that the application was unresponsive. My two options were to wait or to close the application. I tried waiting, but it never resolved. The only other option was to close FrameMaker and lose the edits I had performed since the last Save. I am now clicking into text and using keyboard shortcuts to select text instead of click-and-drag, but this is difficult to remember when I'm working. If I accidentally click-and-drag, it's 50/50 whether it will freeze or not. Sometimes I'm lucky... Has anyone else run into something like this? Thanks. Numbering Lists for book
Hi, I am sure someone knows the answer to this, but it is eluding me... I am numbering graphics and tables in a multi-chapter book. The project manager would like to generate one List of Figures and one List of Tables (sequential numbers for each list). How do I do that? Each chapter begins the numbering anew and the only thing I can think of is to add a chapter prefix to the autonumbering in the paragraph tag, but I'd rather have a much simpler list.
