Keyboard shortcuts causing crash on FM appserver installation

2013-07-23 Thread Mike Thorn
Hi, all.

A new FrameMaker 11 installation on a Citrix application server crashes
instantly when I press F8 or F9, as well as the alternate Ctrl+8/Ctrl+9
shortcuts. It's the regular FrameMaker "serious problem" message, showing
internal error codes 11024, 23327044, 26070837.

OS: Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard
FM: 11.0.2.384

Frame 9 on the same appserver never had a shortcut problem, and FM 11 on my
Windows 7 laptop is fine.

Any clues?

Thanks,
Mike

Word to .mif conversions in Windows 7

2012-12-03 Thread Mike Thorn
Hi, all.

I'm hoping to replace the Filtrix converter application from Blueberry
Software. Filtrix does not run on Windows 7.

On my old XP machine, I use Filtrix to batch-convert .doc files to .mif.
Although Frame (I have version 9) has a built-in .doc converter, Filtrix
lets me convert a large group of files in a single step.

More important, Filtrix renders the first row of a Word table as a heading
row in the .mif, so the row gets repeated after a page break in Frame. The
native Frame .doc filter interprets the first row as just another row. But
heading rows are critical to my target document--a database reference with
hundreds of tables.

Does anyone know of another product that works like Filtrix?

Thanks,
