Re: Autonumber at end of paragraph

2008-03-27 Thread Graeme R Forbes

Does anyone know of a way to get Frame to put the autonumber
text where the setting for Position implies it will put it: right at the
end of the paragraph -- in other words, immediately after the text I type?

A test of my own docs with autonumbers at the end of paragraphs
suggests that neither alignment nor tab settings is the problem --
the autonumber goes to the far right in every case. However, there is
a right indent marker whose position can be set in the Paragraph
Designer or by dragging. If you drag it left the autonumber moves
with it. But you'd have to do this manually every time.

From the FrameMaker Help topic Formatting Numbered Lists:

5. Choose a position for the autonumber from the Position pop-up menu.
Autonumbers at the end of paragraphs are rare except in equation
formats.
==end Help topic

* To place an autonumber at the right margin:
* Create an empty instance of an autonumber paragraph format with End
of Paragraph position (or type one or more searchable white-space
characters, such as non-breaking-, en-, or em-spaces in it)
* Preced it with a paragraph formatted with the Pagination property Run-in Head.

Autonumber at end of paragraph

2008-03-27 Thread Alan Litchfield
Rick,

Check your autonumber setting in the Paragraph Designer. Check and see if
there is a tab marker in there and in there is a tab marker somewhere on the
right of the text frame. Try replacing the tab marker, if there is one, with a
space, or em space, etc.

Cheers
Alan
