Epic Arbortext to Adobe FrameMaker
Thanks to all of you on this. My concern is the AT-to-FM route. It's a one-way trip, not a roundtrip. So maybe the journey won't be as difficultThe manufacturer provides us with their documentation via AT and we do "that thing we do" without having to respect a round trip back to AT... Yes, the one-way route is easier, as you won't have to hang on to any AT-specific processing commands and your FM read/write rules may be fewer in number. To clarify Diane's situation, there is more there than just AT and FM compatibility. A few of the processes she has to use are for institutional reasons and are not required aspects of AT and FM compatibility. -Matt Matt Sullivan GRAFIX Training m...@grafixtraining.com www.grafixtraining.com office 714 960-6840 cell & txt 714 585-2335 sms message skype: mattrsullivan twitter: mattrsullivan linkedin facebook -Original Message- From: ecid...@zoominternet.net [mailto:ecid...@zoominternet.net] Sent: Thursday, January 07, 2010 6:57 AM To: Carole Johnson; Matt Sullivan; ecid...@zoominternet.net; Diane Gaskill Cc: framers@lists.frameusers.com; framers-boun...@lists.frameusers.com Subject: Re: RE: Epic Arbortext to Adobe FrameMaker Thanks to all of you on this. RE: Epic Arbortext to Adobe FrameMaker
Hi Eduardo, No plugin or procedure needed, but you need to set up any version of structured FrameMaker to understand and interpret your (XML?) info coming from ArborText or any other XML editor. (unless you want to edit in a standard text editor like Notepad...) In FrameMaker, you will want to create a structured application to point to the DTD and other files needed to process the XML and format as desired, since your DTD will not address formatting. As with AT, setting up these details is not a simple 5-minute process; since you probably won't be doing this with regularity, you may want to leverage company resources who understand the process, or engage someone familiar with it to speed up development time. -Matt Matt Sullivan GRAFIX Training m...@grafixtraining.com www.grafixtraining.com office 714 960-6840 cell & txt 714 585-2335 sms message skype: mattrsullivan twitter: mattrsullivan linkedin facebook -Original Message- From: framers-boun...@lists.frameusers.com [mailto:framers-boun...@lists.frameusers.com] On Behalf Of ecid...@zoominternet.net Sent: Wednesday, January 06, 2010 2:09 PM To: framers@lists.frameusers.com Subject: Epic Arbortext to Adobe FrameMaker Importance: High Good afternoon Fellow Framers First, my setup: WXP Pro 2002 SP2, FrameMaker 8 and 9 (I have both)...
