RE: Pagination: Top of Column
Theresa, You can probably do away with the CRs by just putting your cursor before the Heading 1 text and Special-Page Break and then at the option for At top of next: choose Column from the drop down list and then click the Set button. This assumes you are now at the top of the current column. If so insert one CR and do it. Craig -Original Message- I have solved the problem for this book by adding enough CR to the body to bump Heading1 into the next text frame. (By the way I have separate text frames because I want each block of text to show up in exactly the same place on the page). ___ You are currently subscribed to framers as arch...@mail-archive.com. list hiccups WAS: Pagination: Top of Column
Theresa, I've, too, have sent a couple of queries in the last day and have not seen them nor any comments back. Surely in this day and age we are not making some poor list admin okay all these posts, are we? There must be a better way. Probably some software quirk is making the list hiccup, but who knows. I have seen a drizzle of postings and response, but not much over the last 48 hours or so (11 posts today and 10 yesterday). Craig -Original Message- Thanks for your interest, I have other crucial issues now and it seems that Frameusers will only post my questions every 10 hours or so. I have written to the listadmin but no results. ___ You are currently subscribed to framers as arch...@mail-archive.com. Send list messages to framers@lists.frameusers.com. Re: Pagination: Top of Column
An easier solution is to create a paragraph format called PageBreak. Give it a very large space below setting that is larger than the height of the text frame, such as 500 points. You can insert a paragraph with this tag wherever you need a page or column break. You can also use Special Page Break, but that one has the annoyance of being seen as an override by FrameMaker. So choosing to remove overrides on imports can remove all of them and really mess up your page layout. Hi Stuart, What I meant was that I had divided the master page Body text frame into separate frames. In the first instance I had 6 frames, 2 columns wide. I think the flow may have been top left, top right, middle left, middle right, lower left, lower right. In this way the Pagination: Top of Column moved correctly. I think it stopped working when I reduced the frames on a single page to one column because there was no longer another column to move to. I’m compiling many short, short stories into a book. I’d like the heading for the story (author + title) to be positioned in the same place on the page. Previously I had a master page where I had split the body text frame into 6 slots (3 high x 2 columns). Setting the Paragraph Tag to Pagination: Top of Column worked perfectly putting the author at the top of the next available slot. Because of confusion with bookmarks in the pdf version, I’ve decided to reduce the slots to 3 vertical slots. Now the Pagination: Top of Column no longer works to move the author to the top of the next body text frame. Also the Master Page usage is no longer working properly. Any ideas? Thanks in advance for your help. Theresa -- === Theresa de Valence t...@bstw.com === ___ You are currently subscribed to framers as arch...@mail-archive.com.
