I’ve seen it do that if I click out of the Find/Replace box and type in the
body of the current document. To stop it from looping, don’t do that. J

Hi all

 

I am sure I have seen something in a forum about this before but cannot find
anything on it now.

 

When I search for a term/paragraph style etc throughout a book, Frame opens
a file, searches for the term, then instead of opening the next file in the
book, goes back to the start of that file, searches again, and only when it
reaches the end THIS time does it pop up the message “Unsaved changes in
File:x. Save before closing”. It then moves on to the next file.

 

Does anyone else see this behaviour? I’m using Frame 8 on Windows 7.

And is there any way to stop this?

I noticed that just yesterday in FM10. Eventually I started watching the
page numbers and manually saving and going on to the next file when it
restarted.

Seems like a bug to me, as does FM's long-standing tendency to change the
search scope from Book to Document on its own.

Yes, I think that's true. If you just click buttons in the Find /
Replace box it doesn't loop.

I wish I had a copy of FM6 or 7 around to compare the old behavior.
