And … it will work, so that’s just grand! ... In defense of FrameMaker; it doesn't assume the mere text of a URL should be active; it makes that your prerogative. In that sense, it's much more like an HTML editing environment than a word processor. There are many cases in which one would very much NOT want a URL to be auto-hyperlinked (e.g., a code snippet intended to be copied). ___ You are currently subscribed to framers as arch...@mail-archive.com. You can turn off the undesired automatic changes on the Autoformat as You Type tab. Here's instructions for Word 2007. http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/word-help/use-automatic-formatting-as-you-type-HP010082297.aspx?CTT=5origin=HA010174646#BM1 On 30-Sep-13 8:57 PM, Craig Ede wrote: Thank god for that. Actually, it's the reverse process that Word uses. This way you can include a URI as plain text and not have the program assume you wanted a link. Unlike Microsoft, Adobe does not usually assume it knows what you want to do. Scott T. On Sep 29, 2013, at 22:26, VLM TechSubs techs...@vibrantlivingministries.org wrote: Thanks Rick. No. You could write a script that did all the steps with one command. On Sat, Sep 28, 2013 at 9:53 PM, VLM TechSubs techs...@vibrantlivingministries.org wrote: Greetings, I work in FM 8. RE: FrameMaker: Is any version URL-aware?
Intriguing suggestion, Robert. I would say that someone can write such a script. Perhaps someday, that someone will be I. :) I wonder what it would cost to ask someone, who knows how, to write either an API client or a script (of either type, I suppose).
