I strongly recommend BookVars from Leximation ... check out
www.leximation.com for more info. Does more than you asked for, but the
usefulness of it *cannot* be overemphasized! :)

This is probably my most commonly used plug-in for FrameMaker.

 Does anyone know of a way to get a complete list (text is fine) of all
 the variables in a FM file and their values?
 
 I'm using FM 7.1

Save the file as .mif, open in a text editor, and search for the string 
VariableFormats.  What follows is the list you're looking for.
