Lynn,

It's been awhile since I've worked with Publisher 2003, but I do not
recall that page breaks where controlled via markers. Page breaks
should be controlled via a page break option + TOC levels (to combine
successive page breaks) + page style markers.

ePublisher exactly mimics the behavior of Publisher 2003 with regard to
page break and page styling behavior.

So, it would be worth your while to evaluate ePublisher and see how it
works with your content. Shouldn't take more than a few minutes to
download and confirm the behavior.

I would recommend that you request to evaluate ePublisher Designer, as
you are an experienced Publisher 2003 user.

I don't see anywhere in RoboHelp 9 where I could map FrameMaker
markers to page breaks.

The only reference to FM markers I can find is in the FrameMaker
Conversion Settings dialog, where you can define the CSH marker type
(default is TopicAlias).

I find RoboHelp problematic in too many ways to recommend it as a
FrameMaker add-on. (I haven't used it standalone since 2003.)

In RoboHelp, it's easy to tell it where to break pages. In TCS (where RH and
Frame are integrated), you can even put the breaks in the Frame pages and RH
parses them from Frame.

I'm curious about that as well.Never heard of such a thing.

MIF2Go is much cheaper than ePublisher but I have no idea if either
supports page-break markers.

Mif2Go lets you remap markers any way you please,
including using them to split topics. It's a
one-line setting in the ini file. No changes at
all required in the Frame files. And a *lot*
less expensive at $295 (and easier to use) than
any other option we know of.

HTH!

I highly recommend getting the newest version of WebWorks ePublisher. You would
have to rebuild your stationery.

Are you not breaking pages at headings? Do you have some other approach to page
breaks?
