Don't anchor your table to the paragraph or heading. Create a paratag
specifically for tables, and then attach your table to that.

 Hi all,

FM 8.0p277 (I’m reasonably sure that my Windows edition
 doesn’t matter on
 this one.)

I put hints, notes and cautions in a 1x1 table with a
 border in our software
manual. I also have side headers for Topics. In this case,
 I have a longish
topic and a very short paragraph following it to which a
 Hint table is
attached. The top of the Hint table is aligned to the
 bottom of the topic,
not the bottom of the following paragraph. That creates a
 large white space
between the paragraph and table which I’d really like to
 eliminate.

I’ve looked at alignment settings until I’m blue in the
 face. Help?

 TIA,

 Lea

RE: Table alignment crossed with a side head

2010-04-16 Thread Lea Rush
Hi Nadine,

Sadly, that doesn't help. The TableParaTag paragraph mark is properly spaced
one line below the very short paragraph, but the top of the table attached to
it is still aligned with the bottom of the longer side-header topic.
