The John Cage Trust and Bard College Conservatory of Music present:


New Restorations and Discoveries from Center for Visual Music
April 26 at Ottaway Film Center, Bard College, New York


 From absolute film to psychedelia, this program of revelatory moments from
the history of visual music and kinetic art explores lost, legendary and
rare treasures from the archives of Center for Visual Music (CVM).
Featuring the east coast premiere of the newly discovered film by John Cage
and Richard Lippold, *The Sun Film* (1956), about the kinetic art
sculpture. Rare works by Jordan Belson include his infamous *LSD* (1962); a
presentation reel from the legendary San Francisco Vortex Concerts (1959)
and *Quartet* (c.1983). Early films by Oskar Fischinger, an influence on
Cage, Belson and many others, include newly preserved 35mm prints of *Spirals,
Ornament Sound* and *Studie nr 5*. Made in upstate New York*, Turn, Turn,
Turn* (1966) by Jud Yalkut is 'a kinetic alchemy of the light and
electronic works of Nicolas Sch*öffer*, Julio Le Parc, USCO, and Nam June
Paik' with sound by USCO.'


The program, featuring many newly preserved 16mm and 35mm prints, will be
introduced by curator/archivist Cindy Keefer of CVM. Laura Kuhn, Director
of the John Cage Trust, will introduce *The Sun Film* by Cage and Lippold.

Many of the films in this program were preserved by CVM with support from
The National Film Preservation Foundation; others with support from private
donors. *Studie nr. 5* was preserved by CVM with support from EYE,
Amsterdam. This program is touring, and screened previously at Tate Modern,
London and Hammer Museum/UCLA Film  TV Archive, Los Angeles.

Center for Visual Music is an archive dedicated to visual music,

[Frameworks] FCPX Plugin to remove dust and dirt?

I shot some footage with my DSLR but had some dirt on my lens.  Anyone have
experience / recommendations with Final Cut X plugins that will remove it?

Since it was on the lens, it's (possibly) different than removing dirt from
film scans, since that only appears for a few frames.  This is constantly
in the shot.
