[Frameworks] Urgent - Sentencing Hearing has been delayed again!

Dear friends and supporters of Lawrence Brose,


Lawrence just heard from his attorneys that the Sentencing Hearing on
October 31st has been postponed (this was Mr. Cambria’s call).


This is a very unfortunate situation but Paul Cambria is currently
involved in a major murder trial and he wants to make sure that he can
give Lawrence’s case his full attention (which is a good thing).


The new Sentencing Hearing date has been set for: November 25th at 9 am in
Judge Skretny's courtroom in the new Federal Courthouse (2 Niagara Square)
in downtown Buffalo.


Yes, this is very disappointing - we had hoped to get this all behind him
by the end of this month.  However, this gives Lawrence’s team more time
to get it right.  His legal team is going to fight for "time served" and
even though we cannot predict what Judge Skretny will do, having the
courtroom filled with so many people will go a long way toward sending a
message that the community supports him and is paying attention. We had
almost 70 people coming for the October 31st date and some were coming in
from NYC and abroad. This has been a tremendous outpouring of support and
means so much to Lawrence!


Please let us know if you will be able to attend the new hearing on
November 25th! This will be the five year anniversary, to the date, of his
first court hearing in this case – yet another harsh commentary on our
system of justice!

[Frameworks] Updates on job searches at University of Colorado, Boulder

 Here is an update on the job searches in Film Studies at the University of
Colorado, Boulder.


The Digital Cinema Scholar/Artist position has been reconstituted and
relisted as an open rank search.  The appointment will be joint between the
Film Studies Program in the College of Arts and Sciences and the Department
of Critical Media Practices in the new College of Media, Communication and
Information.


There is also a new search in the Film Studies Program for an Assistant
Professor with a focus on narrative film/video/time-based production.
