Re: [Frameworks] MacClaine

2017-07-28 Thread Jonathan Walley
To my knowledge, it’s not available on video/dvd/whatever in the US, but there
is a collection of Maclaine films put out by Re:voir. From the website, it
looks like Region 0:

I showed the print from FMC a few months back. Pretty nice print.

Hope this helps.

Does anyone know where I can find a copy of Chris MacClaine's "The Man who
Invented Gold".

Also looking for the films of Hy Hirsch.

Thanks

Re: [Frameworks] super8: braun nizo only shoots reverse

2017-07-28 Thread Heath Iverson
That "R" button is for making lap dissolves. If you press it once, the
camera will run for 120 frames (i think) then rewind. To get it to run
again you need to hold the "r" button again while filming and once you've
gone past the previously exposed length of film, it should return to normal
functioning. That's if there's not some other problem with the camera.

Re: [Frameworks] Braun Nizo 481 macro

2017-07-28 Thread Karl Reinsalu
The R on the top of a Nizo will run the camera forward for 3 seconds; then
force the cartridge to backwind for three seconds. There will be an
indicator on the side that will change from a letter to a number (I think
to a 0; apologies as I do not have one in front of me to confirm). To run
the camera forward again, you must press down the R on top of the unit,
then depress the trigger and the camera will go forward.

This mechanism is the major issue I find here at LIFT with the Nizo's...
the film cartridges do not like this, the often jam OR the mechanism fails
eventually jamming the camera.

IF the camera is only going backwards; something is going wrong inside.. :(
Do you know any camera techs? I will ask around to see if anyone has a
schematic (and/or) service manual.

All the best!
Karl.
